Knock knock knock
Reginald's body was still on his table, not budging at all.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
"Eh?..." His body moved a little as he shifted his position.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
"I'm awakon!" He got up, his hair in all directions, as he yawned while stretching his arms.
He slowly stood up from his chair, dragging his feet as he opened the door to see Mr Dav standing outside.
"Mr Dav? Did I miss school? Sorry I've been studying all night.." He continued muttering as Mr Dav raised a brow and glanced at Reginald small room.
"Reginald," Mr Dav said, looking him in the eyes, "Pack your bag. We are going to Duerrin tonight."
"And I promise I've reall-." Reginald stopped his muttering, "W-wait did I hear that correctly?"
"You've been chosen to go due to your dedication in your studies, your grades have proven it. Now, go pack up. Your father has been informed." Mr Dav said, "Remember to bring the transformation mask you were given before too."
"O-of course! Thank you!" Reginald's eyes brightened as he never would've imagined himself going to Duerrin. He bowed and said, "Thank you!"
"Thank yourself." He patted Reginald's shoulder and walked off, Reginald watched him as he went down the stairs.
He closed the door, taking a deep breath and squealed, pumping his fist up and down.
"I'm going to the main city!" This dream had always been buried deep in his heart as he thought of it as an impossible dream. Being from the town, the dream was to get into this city. But he had always heard of the main city, Duerrin. This was also the call of a new adventure!
His steps became light as he hopped over to his closet while taking out his school bag and started packing all of his clothes.
Downstairs, Mr Dav heard his squeal and couldn't help but have a small smile on his face, 'That's right, who wouldn't be excited to go to Duerrin? Especially for a kid.' He shook his head and went over to the next student room.
"Duerrin?" A student sounded hesitant, "Is it compulsory to go?"
'There is such a person that exists!' Mr Dav mind shouted, 'A kid no less!'
The girl wears a dark red spectacle, her black hair with a wavy end let down to her shoulder, as she is wearing a long sleeve shirt underneath the school pe shirt and shorts.
"It's compulsory, unfortunately…" That last word felt weird to be spoken, as Mr Dav glanced at the young girl's room, but before he could even gaze at it, she snapped her finger, causing him to look back at her.
"Get ready by tonight? I can bring anything I want, right?" She asked.
"Of course, Otta. You can." He simply said, "You've scored the best for science so it has made it compulsory to go."
"Figures." She simply said, "Anyways, goodbye teacher. I will be getting ready."
"Ah yes," Before he could continue, the door was closed by his face, "Ah."
The door opened again, "Do I have to wear the school uniform?"
"No." He said, "Yo-" The door closed on his face again, ".." He sighed and walked away.
Sitting on the teacher's table is Sezia. As she looked at the empty classroom, she glanced out the window.
Her eyes shone a little light, and the view of the beautiful city was suddenly covered with black aura as far as the eyes could see.
Slowly, the sun started to set.
In front of the school gate, a few students stood there.
Sezia walked towards the school gate carrying a big dark green camper bag. Her hair tied neatly into a bun as she wore a simple dark blue hoodie with dark green shorts.
Her eyes shone a little light again, and the students standing around in front of her, some shone red, a few shone dark red. With one of the students who isn't shining, but is covered in dark red, like it's a part of them.
She looked at Otta, and she met back her gaze.
Otta was wearing a black cap that covered her forehead, almost covering her eyes. Wearing a black duster coat with a white shirt inside and black cargo pants with combat shoes. She's carrying a bag bigger than her size.
'Why does she look more prepared than everyone here..?' Reginald thought as he put on his black spectacles. He's wearing a simple dark red polo shirt, and the school's short, 'I don't think she was from the town.' He glanced at the other students around.
With him, there's only a total of five students.
"Alright, let's get going." Sezia said as she led the students to the minivan parked nearby. The minivan is dark green, with spots of brown.
The students slowly got on the van, while Otta stood outside looking at it.
"Hey, go in." Sezia was standing behind her as Otta walked towards the back. Sezia raised a brow and followed her to the back.
Entering the van, Reginald saw Mr Dav at the back, and Miss Kate was sitting at the middle end. Both of them are wearing different outfits from their teaching ones.
Mr Dav wore what a typical physical education teacher would, a blue sports shirt with long grey sweatpants. While Miss Kate wore a casual shirt with a windbreaker and a dark green skirt that covered her knees.
The driver's cap was lowered and covered almost their whole face. They just looked at the rear view mirror, watching the students entering. He sits beside Mr Dav in the middle and places his bag down by his feet.
The door opened, and Otta climbed in, sitting beside Reginald. The front door opened, and Sezia shifted her body inside, "Alright! Everyone's ready? To go Duerrin!"
In the middle, all the students except Otta cheered excitedly.
"Alright, don't look back now." Sezia said as the van moved forward. Reginald glanced at the side, and outside, he saw a bus that parked too.
Otta took out her phone and just started using it.
"Ain't you scared of getting carsick?" Reginald had read more about it before, so he didn't dare to use his tablet.
Otta just glanced at him before looking back on her phone.
"You won't get sick if you eat candy." A student in front said, while the one beside him chuckled.
"Eat candy, get sick, puke rainbow. Simple." She said, "When are we going to reach Duerrin?"
"No one better puke on the car." Dav grumbled, "It's a pain to clean up."
"We will be taking the shorter route since we are in a van and not a car." Sezia said while glancing out the window.
"Why are we the only ones going?" The student sitting nearer to the door asked the question on everyone's mind.
"You five scored the best of best. What else?" Sezia simply replied, placing her elbow on the door as she placed her chin on her hand.
Reginald looked at the rear mirror to look at his classmates better.
Sitting beside Miss Kate is a boy who looked shorter than him. He has a dark blonde taper haircut, with hazel-colored eyes. He wears a dark grey bomber jacket with dark green sweat pants.
Beside him is a girl with light grey hair tied into a ponytail reaching with blue eyes. She wears a white collar long sleeve shirt in a light brown jumpsuit.
The student sitting near the door beside her has midnight blue hair that's tied into a ponytail that is above his shoulder. He's wearing the school uniform with a long black sleeve shirt inside, with ash grey shorts.
"Don't spout that crap." The girl said while untying her hair as she leaned her head against the chair, "I've probably scored the worst in the whole school."
"Likewise." The boy sitting beside Miss Kate said.
Otta scrolled on her phone and showed Reginald what's on it.
Reginald took the phone with curiosity and looked through it.
He felt sweat slowly forming on his forehead despite being in an air-conditioning van.
She leaned towards him and whispered something, which caused him to occasionally glance at the students chatting in front of them.
She took back her phone and turned it off, looking outside as the van drove out of the city.
Reginald looked down at his hands as he slowly clutched it. He slowly got on his knees as he turned his body around.
Looking at the night sun setting, the city lights start lightning up.
The students at the front saw on the rear view mirror Reginald's back and also got on their knees, turning around to see the city coming to life.
Boom
