Chapter 1: Prologue 1

" " = Talking

' ' = Thinking

* * = Action

Zhang Qie was standing on top of a pile of corpses. For unknown miles on end around him stood barren land. As he stood there he reminisced on what had happened in the past and how he got where he was today.

Zhang Qie was from a well-to-do family, they were neither rich nor poor, he had a loving mother and sister who seemed to love him to no end and would pamper him whenever they had the chance to—and also the money. Over the years he grew complacent with his life and was happy with the status quo, but he soon became arrogant, and that was the moment his life turned to hell.

One day when Zhang Qie was walking he bumped into someone, that someone had spotless robes on, and he seemed to be able to attract the attention of crowds wherever he went. His name was Huo Ming. Zhang Qie continued to walk by, not noticing the slight glare that Huo Ming sent him, and he didn't bother to apologize or even look at Huo Ming. This was his first mistake.

Huo Ming: "Hey peasant, aren't you going to apologize for dirtying this young master's clothes! 'Some people these days not even having basic manners, but what can you expect from some commoners.'

Zhang Qie: "Huh? Why should I apologize to you? This daddy can do what he likes and you should feel honored to be even touched by me. It's not every day that someone as low as you will even be able to meet someone like me."

Huo Ming: "You are courting death! (I had to get that line out of the way, it's a classic line that everyone should know.) If you kowtow in front of this young master I will let you off but if you choose to ignore me then don't blame me for being ruthless!" (I really should think of other lines, but it's too fun using the classics. Don't worry, I will try to refrain from using them too often, but I might have no other choice in some situations but to use them, such as this situation.) 'You best apologize, commoner, if you don't then you most certainly won't have a happy ending'

Zhang Qie: "Your father here most certainly will not kowtow, the only people I would even think about kowtowing to would be my family, no one else has the qualifications, even the heavens!"

*Rumble* At that moment a flash of lightning went through the clouds, as if protesting against what Zhang Qie said, after that it went silent. This was his second mistake, and most arguably the worst one that he did at the time.

Huo Ming: "It seems that nothing will make you change your mind, This is where our paths end, I wish you good luck on your endeavors." 'It seems that you have chosen death, (lol) This young master will help you on that road, of course you should have people to accompany you on it and who am I to say no.'

After this incident, they parted ways, both not knowing the event that unfolded will be the beginning of a bitter struggle that will shake the entire province to it's core.

Eventually, Huo Ming reached his home, The home seems to be a grandeur mansion with an overflowing garden, there seemed to be all kinds of flowers in it, painting a indescribable picture that left the visitors in awe, oddly enough there were no guards or gardeners around, making a person wonder how the garden is maintained and kept safe from thief's. But Huo Ming did not seem to care, he angrily went into the house, violently opening the doors, only to feel a chill down his spine the moment he stomped on the wooden floor, there in front of Huo Ming seemed to be an elderly man. He was dressed in a servant's outfit but seemed to give off a indescribable pressure, briefly stunned Huo Ming seemed to have forgotten his anger, before he quickly regained it again, this time with veins popping out of his head.

Elderly Man: "Welcome back young master!"

Huo Ming: "Take me to my father! There is a bug that doesn't know his place and I want him DEAD!"

The servant seemed to understand that his young master wasn't in a good mood and hurriedly guided Huo Ming to a room. Once they arrived there the servant opened the door and let Huo Ming in, then he shut it and waited at the door in case he was needed for anything.

The room that Huo Ming entered was rather simple, with only one bed at the center of it, although the bed itself was luxurious with carvings on it that resembled dragons and other mythical creatures. After arriving in the room Huo Ming seemed to calm down somewhat and spoke to the person on the bed in a respectful tone, the person in question was in a lotus position on the bed with his eyes closed, seemingly in a trance.

Huo Ming: "Father, some peasant insulted me, he not only insulted me but also used your name in vain, referring to himself as you and acted like a primate while doing so."

His father after hearing that slowly opened his eyes, a hint of anger in them. He, who was respected by the elites, and dubbed one of the strongest in the province was actually made a fool of by someone. He was named Huo Gu.

Huo Gu: "What's the brat's backing and name?"

Huo Ming: "Father, forgive me but I don't know his name." 'I forgot to ask for his name, I just hope father won't get to angry.'

Black lines formed on Huo Gu's forehead

Huo Gu: "Alright then, who is backing him? Is it a sect, family, or other organization?"

Huo Ming started to sweat when he suddenly realized that he didn't know who the other person was, he had no information to give to his father. Huo Ming suddenly knelt.

Huo Ming: "Forgive this useless son! He didn't get any information on the perpetrator at all."

Huo Gu now had pulsing veins on his forehead. He was tired of his idiotic son and was about to slap him into the divine realm. Luckily, Huo Ming seemed to recall something.

Huo Ming: "Father, I just remembered his appearance. He had midnight black hair that went to his shoulders and oily skin, he also had an average face but the most distinctive thing about him is his golden eyes."

Huo Gu: "Golden eyes? That should be easy to find. Take the servant with you and search the whole city if you have to, I don't care how long you take, but don't come back unless you find him!"

After that, Huo Ming was kicked out of the room. Now that Huo Ming was out of the room, he let out his suppressed emotions, his anger evident in every step he made, he quickly summoned the servant and walked towards the door with him.

*bam* the door was thrown open and Huo Ming walked out of the house. When he thought of the root of all his current problems a malicious smile formed on his face.

Huo Ming: 'Peasant, this is all your fault, when I find you, I will play you to death.'

CREATORS' THOUGHTS

Hello there. Just wanted to say that the ending might not have been so good because I was tired, if you see any mistakes tell me about it please. I am writing purely because I want to and will do it off and on, don’t expect consistent uploads. I also realized that I did too many details for a prologue so I will try to make it less detailed and more vague, after all this is more like a flashback, it won’t really contribute to the actual story. More than 1000 words and will keep it that way
