Never in his life had Prince Basileus felt nervousness quite as intense as what he was experiencing that morning. It didn't occur to him before that it would be the first time Varya had ever seen him in battle.

As he walked into the palace's garden, his heart started racing and he was faced with unfamiliar feelings that he didn't know how to deal with.

He wondered how the match would look to Varya - if she would feel more or less safe in his hands after seeing him fight. His father trained him from a young age, would she want him to train their son after seeing his match?

Fighting was the only thing he was confident in so why did he feel like he was going to be sick at the thought of her watching him in a fight?
