Chapter 205: Reconcile

Varya occasionally put the crystal wine glass to her lips and took a sip of the blood-red liquid, willing it to settle the feelings welling up inside of her.

Basileus was upset with her and her knee-jerk reaction was to be upset with him in return, only digging both of them deeper into an unnecessary scenario.

She had told him before that she liked how protective he was but protectiveness felt far different from jealousy. Though she was coming to terms with the fact that the two feelings often existed together and she had to acknowledge that side of himself as well.

After all, her first interaction with Theron was when he approached her in the garden all those years ago and expressed his desire to get to know her more. The way Basileus responded should have been an early indication of that even though she wasn't his yet. She should have known then that Basileus was a jealous man even when he wasn't meaning to.
