Chapter 45: Ready To Leave

Having spent the past couple of months in a brothel, Varya was experiencing something she didn't think was ever going to be possible again: positivity.

Ever since the productive visit with Ebari, she caught glimpses of a future where she was allowed to do as she pleased. There was a possible future where her child would have a safe place to live and a mother who would do everything in her power to make sure they had everything they needed.

Varya didn't know when she would be allowed to reunite with Basileus, but she could hang on until then. Her love for him was stronger than a few months of separation.

Coming from a privileged background, she was somewhat saddened at the thought of not being able to shower her child with expensive gifts. As a child, her parents would have given her the world if she asked. However, material possessions had less importance in her life as she reflected on what was truly important.
