Chapter 278: Dose of Reality

"Are you sure this is okay?" Galen asked, pacing back and forth in the emperor's quarters. 

He wore a black tuxedo with a few green details signifying his rank as the Imperial Guard's commander. 

Varya had requested that everyone wear formalwear but be understated in their military medals. Soon everything would change yet again so she didn't want the people of the empire to get used to them how they were. 

Ebari leaned against his counter with his arms crossed over his own black tuxedo, his arms bulging as they covered his expansive chest. He watched as Galen paced back and forth as he experienced a crisis over how the evening was supposed to unfold. 

The auburn-haired alien couldn't help but be amused by the other man's behavior. They were very different in the ways they presented themselves. He found Galen's inability to hold back his feelings to be refreshing. 

"She's going to drop the bomb just like that?" Galen asked.
