"Alright, so what are we talking about?" Grace reminded which succeeded in bringing about a serious look on Jace's face.

"You see, being my girlfriend comes with huge challenges and responsibilities, and I know you're equal to the task."

"One of those challenges is what happened last night with Clarissa which will always come up once in a while and that's why I wanted us to have this conversation."

He lifted her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. "You have to trust me. No matter who tries to cause trouble for you, I'll make sure you never face any form of injustice.. I'll ensure you are given the respect and honor you deserve, first as the outstanding and intelligent woman that you are and secondly as my girlfriend."

Jace's voice softened as he continued. "And I want you to always remember that whatever people say or think, it won't change how I feel about you. I love you, Grace, and that's what matters. Never forget that."
