Chapter 8: Weapon Selection
What do they mean by the goddess blessing?
"I thought that the blessing given to us by the goddess is to show our statuses? Is it not?" Syouma-san asked the king.
"Yes, you are correct you heroes Enlightenment is so you could see your status, but you also get to pick your weapons to determine your professions," the king responded.
So if we decide on a weapon it will give us our professions, and we cannot change it or change weapons...that's a strict rule,,,
"So if we decide on a weapon it will determine our profession and weapons, so we cannot change professions or change weapon, is that what you're saying?" Syouma asked.
...He asked the question I was wondering about, can he read minds???
"Yes, the weapon you choose will determine which profession you pick, and you can now pick your weapons," said by the guy with a mustache.
"Now I will tell how to call out your weapons, now let me remind you that the weapon you call out will be attached to you even in your death, so be very careful and really think about what weapon you want to use, now you are probably wondering how does this blessing work, well, the blessing given to you by the goddess is actually separate, one for your statuses and one for your weapon, the blessing for your weapons is the most important, because if you don't pick your main weapon now this blessing within you will swell up, it will keep swelling up until you pick a weapon, now do you all understand now, great, the priests may now come in."
After he said that, two more priest came in the Throne Room with a table and there is a ball on top of it.
The priests then placed the table in the middle of the room, and the king said, "Alright, gather around everyone so we can see the heroes what they weapon they will choose, it's simple each of you heroes will touch this crystal ball and picture the weapon you will use, after picturing it call out that weapon's name, simple right? Now, who will go first?"
Someone raised their hand, and it was Sunako-kun again, will he embarrassed himself again, let's find out.
"I will go first, and this time it will be a good one," he said.
All of us are looking at him with doubt, even the king is looking at with doubts, I'm just curious what kind of weapon he'll choose.
As he went to the front, the priest kindly asked him, "Oh, dear hero, will you e so kind as to place your hand on top of this Crystal Ball, so you can receive the weapon of your choosing."
He placed his hand on the Crystal Ball, and the priest said to him, "Now close your eyes and think about what weapon you will choose, picture it and when you finish picturing it call out that weapon's name."
Sunako-kun closed his eyes and started picturing his preferred weapon.

It's already been 10 minutes, how long are going to picture your weapon? Just call it out!
Then the king asked him, "Uh...young man would you be so kind as to hurry up, there are still plenty of people waiting for their turn."
"O-Oh sorry, I want it to be as detailed as possible so..." he responded.
"Well then, will you please hurry up," the king asked him again.
When I looked at the king it looked like he was getting annoyed, well I can't blame him, he's taking so long to picture his weapon.
Sunako-kun took out a deep breath and finally called out his weapon, "KATANA!"
Then a flash of light illuminated the whole room, me and my classmates all covered our eyes, because all of us don't want to get flashed again, but I wonder how he's doing since he's at the very base of the flash.
When the flash started to dissipate and when we looked at the front we see something glowing in front of Sunako-kun, is that his weapon?
But why isn't he moving? I thought he would be surprised, then the priest looked at Sunako-kun as to why he isn't moving, as she looked she was surprised and said, "...He passed out..."
"...What...?" all of us said.
One of our classmates approached him and immediately slapped him, then he woke up confused, and my classmate said, "Wake up and pick up that weapon of yours there's still people waiting for you to finish."
"O-Oh, sorry the flash of light was so bright, I immediately passed out,,, hehehe," he responded.
Then he looked at his weapon and grabbed it and said, "I got a notification from my status that says "New Notification: Weapon has been chosen, your profession is "Samurai.""
I knew it, I just guessed it was samurai based on the katana, it's a good weapon, but it takes lots of training, and I don't think the swordsmen in this world knows what that weapon is, unless you train by yourself.
The king asked Sunako-kun, "Uh...excuse me young man, but what kind of sword is that?"
"Oh it a katana, a weapon from our world, it looks great right?" he responded.
"I'm sorry to say this young man, but if you pick a weapon that we are not familiar with, you have to train on your own," the king said to him.
Called it.
I looked at everyone and they were whispering to each other, that maybe they should change weapons that they are familiar with, that way they can get proper training.
Sunako-kun said, "Oh...that's okay, I can train on my own, I watched a lot of tutorials on the internet, so I think I'll be okay."
Yeah, good luck, the training itself is more painful than the tutorial, I will pray for your training.
"Okay then, now who will go next?" the priest said.
Tsukiko-san raised her hand and said, "I'll go next, I figured out what weapon I'm gonna pick."
She went in front and the priest said, "My, you seem confident young miss, but just to let you know it must be a weapon we are familiar with."
"Yeah, whatever I already know you guys know this weapon," she responded.
She then places her hand on top of the ball and closed her eyes, and the ball started glowing, she then started picturing her weapon carefully.

It took 5 minutes, she then yelled out her weapon's name, "WHIP!"
Then the flashing light illuminated again, this we got used to it that it doesn't bother us anymore.
When the light disappeared we looked at her and she still has her eyes closed, I see she prepared herself for the flashing light.
But a whip is kind of...odd to be her preferred weapon, I can already imagine in my head what she will do to that whip, and it is not good.
It had a purple-ish pink-ish glowing, is that weapon her fetish I assume? or is it just what she's familiar with? Anyway both of this questions are probably the same, so I'll probably start avoiding her from this moment on.
She then grabbed her weapon and also received a notification, "I also received a notification that says, "New Notification: Weapon has been chosen, your profession is "Artisan.""
An Artisan, that's a fitting profession for her, because you have to be good with your hands to use a Whip so it's suitable for her.
They were surprised of what weapon she picked including everyone in class, but not Syouma-san and Natsuki-san, it's as if they were expecting for her weapon to be like that.
"I only chose this, because this is what I use in our performance arts class, I used a whip to perform a dance, so this is the only thing that's close to a weapon I used in our world, that's why I picked it," Tsukiko-san stated.
"O-Ok, you can now go back to your group, now who is going next?" asked by the priest.
Everyone was quiet for a moment, but someone raised their hand and said, "I volunteer to go next," said by someone at the back.
It was one of the Geeks, named Hozumi Daizuru he is always with his friend talking about anime, manga, and the new released movies, has good grades somehow.
Maybe I'll try my skill to see his status, I just wanna see if he has any cheat skills.

Ow...that hurt my eyes a little bit, but his status is similar to mine, but his status still beats me...ow my eyes are really starting to hurt.
He walked to the front and placed his hands on the Crystal Ball, and the priest said, "Oh, you look promising young man, I hope you choose a very excellent weapon."
"Yes, I will," he responded.
He then closed his eyes, he then tried to picture his preferred weapon into his mind.
Then the priest said, "Now, let me remind you try to focus on the details of the weapon and call out that weapon's name."

It took him 3 minutes to picture his weapon, and then finally yelled out his weapon's name, "LONGSWORD!"
As he said his weapon the shining light illuminated again, then his weapon appeared.
"Oh, I got a notification that says, "New Notification: Weapon has been chosen, your profession is "Magic Swordsman""
...Really? The most basic weapon in a fantasy world, you could've picked something more grandiose like an Axe or a Bow or a Spear, but no you picked the most basic weapon anyone can pick.
Then I looked at the front, because I was at the back, I looked at my classmates and they were very impressed and delighted of his weapon including my classmates, and the Geeks are the most excited.
...Well if their excited, that's fine, but why didn't they get excited when Sunako-kun called out his weapon, a katana is literary more cool than a longsword!
*sigh* I don't get this guys at all...
Then the priest said, "Oh, yes very good, a Longsword we have many knights who uses that weapon, we will find the most talented swordsman to teach you and a magic teacher to teach you too, because your profession is "Magic Swordsman" so we will find an excellent mage to teach you."
"Y-Yes! I will gladly accept your request, I will do my best to reach your expectations," he responded.
He responded like he was the main character for a second there, trying to be the main character is a big mistake, trust me I tried it on a play, it didn't worked out.
"The next person can go next," said by the person with a mustache.
Oh boy, this is gonna take a while again,,,

Alright, we are down to the last 5 people, which are me, Shimizu-san, Syouma-san, Natsuki-san, and Sato-san, they want to be last, because they said their weapon is not normal like the rest of our classmates, because most of them picked, Swords, half of them picked swords, Bows, because some of them took archery lessons, and some power gloves, because they just want to use their fists, they wanted to go last, because the weapon their choosing is not something like that.
The one who wants to go first is Natsuki-san, and she said, "If I had to fight to survive with my friends, I will not hesitate to fight! I will go first," after she said that Syouma-san looked happy when she was saying her statement, and I that creepy.
Also the way she said it sounded cringe, not hating I just found it cringe, when she said it I was trying so hard not to laugh, I'm sorry it's just I find it unnecessary to say those things, especially if it's a line that came from an anime series.
She then walked to where the Crystal Ball is and the priest said to her, "I like your determination young lady, if you are so determined to save and protect what's dear to you, then prove it by picking a weapon."
She then place her hand on the ball, and trying to decide what weapon she will choose, and after she picked what weapon she will choose, she then started picturing the weapon and she was focusing really hard, she is determined for sure, I can see her brain swelling, that her vain is about to pop, I'm just kidding.
*sigh* This will probably take a long while...
