Chapter 29: The Search for Normalcy

…Lucas never mentioned a girlfriend although I knew that he was getting action from girls in frat parties and female sport teams. I did not agree to go out with any boy from our school. Tessy and Francisca joked that I would grow old and die alone. 

I was content with dying alone if Lucas would die alone too. Of course, I would never have voiced that out loud but it was a viable thought in my head. They said distance made the heart fonder but the three thousand miles between me and Lucas only made me miss him more. Like him more.
