Chapter 45: A Web of Lies

It wasn't even nine a.m. yet and my assistant was already frowning while on a call. She wasn't normally like that but Brittany got on her nerves most times. She had called me over a million times in the last three days. Exaggeration but you get the message. 

I just haven't been in the right sense of mind to talk to her. For years, I have unconsciously created excuses for her in my head. I was a fool for her. 

After all these years, I thought we had a good chance to go over everything that went wrong between us. Since the day in my car, there was a shift of emotions between us. Guess I was wrong because Brittany was fucking two-timing me. 

I can't believe that I was ready to let everything go. I didn't care that she left, the only thing that mattered was that we were together and not wasting time. What was she going to say before her man interrupted us?
