Chapter 398: Don't. Say. Anything.

Hailey had to take advantage of the way things were while she could but she was still protective of Summer because she knew what was coming later. Things eased up for a while once she was old enough to go to preschool so Hailey could go back to work at the nursery and not have to worry about being attacked every day. 

They were able to go on vacations and leave Summer with her grandparents without worry for the time being too. That helped. 

Hailey had to enjoy this while it lasted. Because things were about to get a lot worse once their daughter turned seven and monsters would start coming after her too. 

She had to act like it wasn't the end of the world on Summer's seventh birthday even though she wanted to scream. What she had been dreading for years had finally arrived and there was absolutely nothing she could do about it.
