Chapter 5: Warriors from Legend

Polin is running in the middle of a jungle, visibly injured. He stops after a while.

Someone or something emerges, "You cannot hide. The sins you have committed will follow you no matter where you go."

"Getting attacked by one of you guys is pretty amazing, huh? Guess I am way famous," Polin smiles a little.

The individual retorts, "You mean getting killed."

"Like everyone else, thought you guys were just a legend. Anyway, I can't die today, sorry," Polin grimaces from the wounds.

The individual points his hand toward Polin, stating, "I will decide that."

An arrow comes straight at the certain individual, but he evades.

"One of the Nine Royal Masters, eh? It seems you have got a few more days to live, rebel prince," the mysterious individual declares, vanishing into the dark.

Master Gareth, with his division, arrives and finds Polin severely injured.

Master Gareth, seemingly obedient, greets, "Well, greetings again, Lord Polin. You are looking good."

"Master Gareth, good to see you. And sorry for that day," Polin acknowledges, pretty roughed up.

Master Gareth replies, "Don't worry about that now. You've got some nasty wounds and an angry father to deal with."

"Get ready to move everyone, hurry. We are going to Okabi."

In a huge palace, Master Gareth bows down to someone.

Master Gareth says, "All Hail King Zarius, it is an hon..."

"Where is he now?" King Zarius interrupts.

Master Gareth answers, "In the prison."

Master Gareth and King Zarius walk rapidly.

"He is injured!!!"

"His wounds are being treated there, no need to worry, Your Majesty."

"You went all out?!"

"I wouldn't dare, Your Majesty. It was someone else."

Both of them enter the cell. Polin, with a smile, says, "Hello Father," with bandages all over his body.

King Zarius acknowledges, "Polin."

Master Gareth stands in a corner, thinking, "It has been quite a while, at last, they are talking to each other."

"Who were those guys?" King Zarius inquires.

Polin responds, "Don't know, as soon as I returned to Odresha, they attacked me. I may sound funny, but I think they are Barovia."

"Shut up. Aside from defying royal orders, tell me what have you done now?" King Zarius demands.

Polin states, "Trust me, I even saw the sacred whistle with them."

"Stop being so stubborn. Your stubbornness is the reason your brother will inherit my position instead of you. Now tell me the truth so that I can help you," King Zarius urges.

Polin adds, "There isn't anyone within the whole Odresha who would dare to attack me unless they have got orders from you, Father."

As soon as he finishes, King Zarius slaps him. Calming down a little, King Zarius asks, "Who was that human boy?"

"Don't know," Polin replies.

King Zarius asserts, "Fine, don't tell me. I will find out myself."

"I used my lifespan in his body while fighting Master Gareth. So the boy cannot consume energy from Okabi anymore. And according to the Royal Constitution, for which you guys live and die, you cannot do anything to the boy, not even a simple investigation," Polin explains.

King Zarius is annoyed, "What is your problem with the Royal Constitution?"

"Nothing. It's just whenever your sacred Constitution asks for the blood of the innocent, I will be there to stop that," says Polin.

King Zarius declares, "Talking to you is just a waste of time. Gareth, make the security triple around here."

"As you wish, Your Majesty," Master Gareth responds.

Both of them move out. King Zarius reflects, "And who are these so-called Barovia?"

"I will investigate that personally, Your Majesty," Master Gareth promises.

The King concludes, "Whoever they are, they should know that attacking my son is the same as declaring war against the whole Okabi."

In a weird place, several individuals are gathered together. One of them remarks, "The rebel prince got away."

"Don't worry, he cannot escape from his fate," another individual adds.

Another one questions, "What was the rebel prince doing in the Dresha?"

"He was fighting one of the Nine Royal Masters to save a human child from execution," one of them explains.

Another one comments, "Interesting, isn't it?"

"Who is that human child?" queries yet another individual.
