Chapter 41: Gratitude
In the medical block at Woodenpool, the old lady asks, "May I ask you how much do you know about your father?"
Lenin replies, "Not too much. He died before I was even born. All I know is his favorite color."
Then the old lady shows him a picture and asks, "Is this him?"
Lenin replies, "I don't know; we do not have any pictures of him either."
Sharia says, "Seriously pest, you don't even know how your dad looked like? That's lame."
The old lady punches the top of Sharia's head, saying, "Shut up, brat."
Then the doctor interrupts them, saying, "Ma'am, the patients need rest; please understand."
The old lady says, "Alright, everyone, let's give them some air."
Then they leave. While the old lady is thinking, "How can we be sure whether his father is Ronen or not? Then again, Ronen's son could not be an ordinary human like that boy. Wait a moment, I forgot to tell him about the spell I put on his mother."
Lenin looks at Orni, saying, "Why didn't you try to track me instead of him? Then you wouldn't have to be hospitalized."
Orni says, "I tried, but something is strange about your aura. So, I had no choice but to track that guy."
Lenin tries to reach out for his apple on the desk, saying, "You risked your life to rescue me; thank you. I don't know how to show gratitude properly, but trust me, this is the best I can do."
Orni asks, "Um... no problem. But where are you going? You shouldn't walk."
Lenin says, "Wanna tag along?" and starts walking toward the part of the hall where all the members of the rescue team are resting, with Orni following him.
Lenin finds only Sir George conscious and Pedro mumbling in his sleep, "I am thirsty." They have multiple injuries bandaged all over their bodies. The moment Sir George notices Lenin, he says, "Why are you walking? Go and get some rest, kids." Lenin comes a little closer to Sir George, then bows his head, saying, "Thank you very much, sir, for what you all did for me."
Sir George chuckles a little, saying, "You are a strange boy, haha. We just tried to fulfill our duty "
On the other side, in Okabi Royal Palace, in a huge dark hall, all the keepers of the royal constitution are having a meeting. One of them says, "He cannot be executed as long as he is in eternal sleep."
Another one from the shadow says, "This eternal sleep could be another trap to escape the death sentence."
Someone among them says calmly, "Are you suggesting to execute him in his current condition?"
A young keeper steps forward, saying, "King Zarius will not tolerate such action."
An old keeper says, "Are you afraid to stand up for the royal constitution, keeper?"
The young keeper replies, "I am against any disruption of peace and stability, which is the root cause of our existence as keepers."
The old keeper calms down, saying, "The decision will be made by voting as always. Whatever the solution brings, whether war or peace, we will accept it. The voting will start in 6 months. Until then, Zarius Polin will be under special observation in the Infinity prison. If anything suspicious is spotted or turns out he was pretending to be in that state, then he would be executed on the spot."
Someone from the shadow asks, "What if nothing suspicious is spotted?"
