Chapter 108: Relaxing Thought
The shopping finished up rather quickly after that. When it came to Shiro picking out my swimsuit, she didn't really know my size or anything, so I opted to pick out three different ones before letting Shiro choose one. She ended up picking a two piece set for me which I don't really mind. Although I do worry about my wound... It's basically all healed up as the healing process is nearing it's end, with the scar tissue well on it's way forming; it's quite hideous. Maybe I should've only picked out one piece swimsuits for Shiro to choose from instead...
That said-
"Charlotte?"
"Yes?"
As I stare at myself in the bathroom, wearing the swimsuit Shiro picked out, Shiro's voice comes through the door, muffled somewhat.
"Do you think we can see?"
"Sure- wait..."
"Then we're coming in~" Lisa's voice bursts through along with the door opening.
Now with the three of them inside, I reflexively try to cover my skin, namely my scar. Being the only one wearing something like this only fills me even more embarrassment.
"Oooh! You look cute, Charlotte!" Luna's face almost explodes with how bright of a smile she's wearing.
"Hehe. It's rare to see you this bashful."
"Sh-shut up."
I think I'm more embarrassed that Lisa is seeing me like this over anyone else. but at that moment, I look towards Shiro, who's eyes are glued onto me.
"Shiro?"
"Nn... You look great."
Hearing her compliment eases my embarrassment is a matter of second as I feel the heat that was growing inside me slowly disappear.
"Oh! I have an idea!" Luna was the next to speak, her face still filled with excitement. "We might not being able to swim, but why don't we all use my bath?"
"Wait, how big is your bath?"
"Hehe, why don't we all get dressed then?"
This is probably Luna's way of keeping Shiro distracted until this weekend. That said, I also am clueless about Luna's bath, in fact I didn't even know this house had one.
But my question would soon be answered as the bath wasn't 'inside,' but rather outside Luna's place instead. I've never really went out the back before, so to see a full fledge spa, with large rocks acting as a wall to keep the hot water in came as a huge surprise.
"I mainly use this place for some of the creatures that needs water. It's a natural water source so it's rich in mana."
I've heard Luna talk about this before. Basically, just like everything else in this world, everything has mana. But the mana does get depleted over time. My guess is that Luna collects water from here in order to keep those creatures alive downstairs.
"How long have you been keeping this from us?" Lisa ends up questioning Luna with a perplexed look. I understand... It's kind of absurd looking at it in person. It's all walled off as well, making for quite a private area.
"Hehehe~ Well, now ya know~"
And so, with all of us having already gotten dressed into out swimsuits, we all dip ourselves into the hot water.
I got a tab bit worried about my scar at first, but as soon as I got in, the steam from the water was enough to hide it quite well. Not to mention how relaxing it was as my body immediately felt like it was being rejuvenated by the second.
"Aaah~" We all collectively breathe a sigh of relief.
Looking at it once more, this place is big enough to probably fit ten people quite comfortably.
"Mmm~" Shiro, before I knew it, came up to me as she immediately takes her spot against me, leaning up against the side of me, breaking me out from my relaxation as now I'm assaulted with a whole new Shiro. "Charlotte?"
"Y-yes?"
"Is your wound okay?"
"Nn. It's okay." What I'm more worried about now is Shiro herself.
We've bathed together numerous time, so I've seen her naked plenty of time, but for some reason, seeing her in her swimsuit that I picked out has a whole new effect. Thank god I can play off my embarrassment from this heat from the water.
"It won't be much, but this water will help with the healing process." Luna chimes in, joining our conversation.
"Well, it won't do much for us, auntie..."
"I guess, hehe. I guess that's the downside for vampires, huh."
Just like how vampires main source of mana is from blood, being able to harness 100% of it, vampires also struggle to get mana from anything else. I know that if I was normal human born form this world, I'd feel a lot better than I do now. That said, it still feels nice to relax like this.
"What about you, Lisa?"
"Huh?" Lisa seemed to be in her own world as she opened her eyes at Luna's question.
"Wolves don't get much mana from water, right?"
"Ah, yeah, but I still get a nice amount compared to you guys."
Makes sense... Lisa is the only one among us that seems to be enjoying to the extent she is as she immediately closes her eyes, leaning back on the edge of the spa.
"Mmm..."
That's what I thought at least until I felt Shiro rest her head on my shoulder, entrusting her weight onto me.
"Shiro?"
"This feels nice..." Her eyes are barely open as she wears the softest smile I've seen from her. Just seeing her this relaxed seems to be affecting me as I feel my own body loosen up more.
"Hmmm." Luna looks over at us, prompting me to look her way as she looks at Shiro and I curiously.
"Auntie?"
"I'm just thinking. You still don't know her other half, right?"
"Other half? Ah, yeah. All we know is that Shiro is half vampire."
"Well if Shiro is reacting like this to water, then maybe her other half might like water?"
"I guess that could-"
"Mmm~ I don't think it's the water." Shiro tilts her head back off my shoulder, however still leaning up against me.
"Are you sure?"
"Nn. It's 'cause of Charlotte." She says as she once again rests her head on my shoulder.
"Well I guess that settles that, fufu."
Still... Luna could still have a point. Shiro might say that she's this relaxed because of me, but the water here could also be playing a part. Might not hurt to do some tests in that regard, but that would need us to go back to the facility as Shiro's still deemed as a research subject.
