Chapter 2: Haunted Past

It all happened roughly a hundred years ago, where the world was met with the emergence of beings from another world. The world quickly fell into chaos, sparking a new war; a war between man and monsters. Unbeknownst to us, the beings from the other world were capable of what we called "magic." Thankfully, our advanced weaponry and technology helped breach the disadvantage, leading humankind to victory. However, the gate that connected our words remained, and many others soon started appearing.

The war didn't last long however, as the two worlds came to an agreement with the help of a group of individuals, who'd latter become the representatives of their world. It was difficult considering the beings in that world couldn't understand any of the languages on earth, but somehow, this group could understand humans and the beings from that world, making the discussion much more easier. Eventually, the worlds came to an agreement, prompting selected groups to conduct their researches in both worlds.

Years passed, and with it came change. Humans and demi-humans from the other world began living together as both worlds came together. Of course things didn't go smoothly at first, especially considering the use of magic, so it was declared that anyone who came from the other world needed to pass a series of tests and get their respected license in order to use magic here. Anyone who used magic illegally would be severely punished. It's thanks to these newly added laws that regular humans who didn't posses any magic could live with the humans and demi-humans in the other world without too much worry. But it never goes as smoothly as we hoped...

Eighty years later after the worlds became one, a girl was born. But her birth wasn't normal... Far from it. She probably doesn't even know what she did, but upon being born, she decapitated her own mother with just her mind. Her father quickly called for emergency services, but during the call, he too was beheaded by the newly born girl. When the emergency services arrived, they too were killed in but an instant. The speed of which they we killed was so fast that none of them could even react. Thankfully, the murders all came from the newly born girl, who couldn't even walk, making it easy for the area to be put under governmental lockdown.

Despite the girl crying, probably searching for her mother, a special team managed to capture her before anymore more bloodshed happened, covering her face in a mask. There she was taken into a militarized researched facility, hidden away from the public. Originally, they were tasked to kill her, judging that she's too dangerous for the world. But their attempts at killing her in a humane way were futile as they soon decided to resort to more inhumane ways. Acid had no affect on her as her body regenerated faster than the strongest acids could melt her body. Even electricity couldn't do anything. Normal knives or weapons couldn't cut into her skin, not even bullets, so they used knives with magic ingrained inside them, but even then it was difficult. It was when they finally tried cutting off one of her smaller limbs, a finger, that they discovered something miraculous. Her finger grew back in less than a day.

At this discovery, the higher ups got involved and decided to keep the girl as a test subject. It was quite easy for them to make this decision considering that her parents were no longer there to complain. And so the girl, who had only just been born without even a name, who caused a city wide panic, was soon erased from the publics memory, now being used as an experiment for both military and medical use, but at the cost of giving up her life...

Years go by, and pain eventually became an everyday occurrence for her. With practically an unlimited source of limbs, the most common task she had to endure were agents coming to harvest her limbs that were needed for donors. But since her body grew up, they needed to make use of her smaller figure in case any children may need spare limbs. It's safe to say that early on in her life was the most painful.

Now, after living for eighteen years, things finally died down enough to where they only harvest limbs from her once a day, judging that she'll no longer grow much by this point. She has never left the room she was first brought in to. At this point, the girl was one of the core reasons for this facility's existence as many rules had been put in place. Only high ranking personnel were allowed inside, anyone else would need to be with said people. Her mask must never be touched in case another outbreak would happen. If an outbreak did happen, the room would immediately be put in lockdown before the room gets flooded with sleeping gas. The effects of it didn't last long, but it was enough for them to put the mask back on her. Thankfully, this only happened once when a newly appointed agent got a bit curious and decided to have at look at her face.

They immediately got replaced with new agents. One of them, seemed to feel different than her peers. Even though she got the rundown of what happened, she couldn't understand why the girl is like this. Due to certain rules, she can't do much for her as she simply tries to reassure her.
