In a room far away from Shiro and Charlotte, a loud 'bang' could be heard as a man in glasses dressed in a white suit slams his fist against his desk.
"Damn you, Frigg..."
He mutters those words as he recalls the events of what happened before, how the girl managed to look at her while still keeping her life. He thought everything was going according to plan, he thought that Frigg wouldn't be stupid enough to follow along with such a task, yet Frigg pulled it off, much to everyone's astonishment.
"S-sir..." A woman's voice enters the room; his attendant. Her voice much more feeble than normal as she has never seen her master get this heated.
"What." The man responds in a dry manner, turning his head to the sound coming from behind him.
"N-nevermind..." She wanted to report something, but decided it was better to wait for her master to have a clear mind.
"I was this close... This close!" He balls up his fists against the table, the same place where he made a large crater. "With a weapon like that, I could've fought back against those damn blood suckers."
Bloodsuckers, a term used primarily for vampires. Many other species have their own derogatory names, but vampires being called bloodsuckers are quite common due to the percentage of criminal activity.
"You mean the girl?" The woman asks the man, thinking that maybe he's calmed down a bit.
"Of course, the girl! I've waited years to get my hands on her, to get her out of that place. And I finally got an opportunity thanks to their Lieutenant!" His voice darkens at he mentions Charlotte, exuding a much thicker aura that forces the woman to take a few steps back just to be able to breathe.
"I finally managed to convince that stupid General, but look how that turned out!" Again, he slams his fist down, almost breaking the table by this point as his aura only thickens more. "Now Frigg has free reign? What a joke... She's just a dog that licked her way up the ladder. Ah-"
In the next moment, his aura finally dissipates enough for the woman to enter further inside as she readjusts the collar of her shirt.
"Si-"
"Gale."
"Y-yes!" The woman was about to say something, but got cut off before she could even get a word out.
"What's my schedule for next week?'
"You only have a meeting with the police on Thursday regarding a kidnapping incident."
"That's all?"
"Yes, sir."
"Clear it. The authorities can deal with it. Make sure not to make any plans for the next few weeks."
"Sir?" The woman questions her master, sensing that he must have something in mind as he stands up straight, facing the window.
"I want you to remain at that facility. Let me know about any information regarding the girl and Major Frigg. You're to remain there until further instructions."
"Yes, understood."
The woman bows before making her leave, not bothering about bringing up what she wanted to earlier as she gets changed, ready to head out.
"Now then-"
The man however picks up a phone before dialing a number, his sharp, smug smile returning to his face as he hears the call get picked up.
"Hi, it's me. Are you busy?" He asks while taking a seat at his table, tidying up a few things that had toppled over with his free hand.
"Good. I'd like to ask for your assistance with a certain matter..."
The call continues through the night lasting roughly five minutes before the man in glasses finally hangs up.
"This should do for now." He says while finishing up the last bit of touches on his table. Of course the massive dent was still there as restoration magic is quite a difficult magic to master. One wrong step and you'd cause more damage than before.
"Guess I'll start work on my end as well."
The man feeling satisfied, leaves the building through the main entrance. Now that he's outside, he lights a cigarette from out of his breast pocket as the smoke travels through the air. Looking in a certain direction, he begins moving. The people walking by him immediately moves out of his way with worried looks in their eyes. In this area, everyone knows of his existence as a hybrid, which does make many people fear him, scared to not get on his bad side.
"Tch." The man clicks his tongue before taking in another inhale of the cigarette before letting it out on the man that just passed him.
Even though he's used to this, it still bothers him that people make him out to be some kind of dangerous person. Of course because of being a hybrid, it's true, but because of that, he never really made friends and instead used money to pay for companionship; much like his attendant from earlier.
"The girl wouldn't do that." He thinks to himself as he continues his walk. Thinking that the girl wouldn't have any prejudice for a hybrid like him.
