Kira's POV

Kira stared at Martin's retreating figure and wondered what the future held for their friendship.

Kira decided to give him the benefit of doubt since he was the one that begged for friendship. She could only hope he follows through.

Kira dragged her feet all the way to her car as got in absent mindedly. She drove so slowly as she kept thinking about her conversation with Martin, she ended up arriving home late.

"Kira, where have you been? What happened to your phone?" Nanny Paula's face peered at her through the window before she even got a chance to get down from the car.

It was that moment that she checked her bag which had been inside the phone all through.

"I'm sorry Nanny, I went for a walk along the beach and left my phone inside the car." She apologized.

Nanny Paula looked at her askance as it wasn't her natural habit to apologize. Nanny Paula fretted about what could have happened to her but decided to let it be.
