"I want to believe you." Tears rolled from the corners of her eyes, crinkling down her cheeks as she fixed her gaze on him. His lips slowly parted, and his eyes squinted-his brow furrowed as he questioned her-
"Do you think I don't feel anything for you?"
His question made her heart beat thumped faster than usual. Her lips parted, inhaling the sweet gust of wind that drove tension through her spine. This wasn't what she wanted. She wanted to yell and slam his broad chest as much as possible, just as she had practiced alone behind those closed doors in the Sandoval's mansion for years. But here she was, drooling at his feet. He was her weakness but her strength.
