Helel had gotten on the rooftop before the other 3 could but Itachi paid no mind to it and just decided to make this part quick before their first sparring match as a team, which will decide whether these 3 are really genin and team materials.
As all 3 genins sat on the steps leading to a garden of trees, Itachi said, "Let's start with the introduction. I will go first. I am Uchiha Itachi, your jounin sensei. I have my likes and dislikes. I don't have a hobby but I do take care of my family from time to time. My dream is, well, just to protect. Now, it's your turn, Sasuke."
The younger Uchiha nodded, and started his introduction, "I'm Uchiha Sasuke, though you already know that, aniki," Itachi merely smiled at that, "I like a few things, my family, my dog, and my clan. I don't particularly dislike anything or anyone but I do despise someone," his eyes turned to Helel, then he continued, "I have a few hobbies, including hunting and cooking. And my dream is to become the Uchiha Clan Head in the future."
Itachi nodded, and said, "Hn. Now, your turn, Namikaze-san."
The blonde girl then started, with a few hints of arrogance in her voice, "I'm Namikaze Azumi, daughter of the fourth hokage and the top kunoichi of the year. I like ramen, spending time with my loved ones, and training. I dislike many things but the one person I hate the most is you," she pointed at Helel, "Asahi Ren."
Helel ignored her, infuriating her the most.
Itachi stayed his neutrality but couldn't help but be disappointed at the attitude that his younger brother and the fourth's daughter are showing to their other teammate.
Then she continued, "My hobby is learning new jutsus, and my dream is something that I want to achieve the most. I want it to become a reality someday. I want to be Hokage."
Helel almost snorted.
Itachi stoically said, "Alright. Last one, Asahi-san."
The red headed genin merely glanced at him, and said, "Hmm, where do I begin? Ah, right, my name is Asahi Ren, an orphan and a container," Itachi's eyes narrowed, "I like many things but what I love the most are chocolate candies. They're pretty delicious, trust me."
Well, his sweet tooth was legendary in the whole academy. Almost as strong as Azumi's addiction to ramen.
"And I also dislike many things. My hobbies are… hmm," he put on a thinking pose before finally saying, "ah, yes, meditating and training."
'He was partly lying,' Itachi deduced.
"My dream is…" he thought about it for a moment, and smirked as he said, "to be the hokage and change the world."
Azumi stood up, almost shouting, "Ren!! You're doing this just to piss me off, aren't you!?"
"Namikaze-san, please stand down," Itachi said, trying to peacefully calm her.
"Listen to me, tomato head! I am going to become the hokage, not you!" She shouted at him.
The jounin Uchiha frowned. He didn't know that it was this hard having a team. He was about to forcefully calm her down, when Asahi Ren suddenly spoke.
Helel chuckled at her, saying, "You're going to be the Hokage? You don't even know how to be responsible, and you think you're hokage material? Stop being so childish. Only brain dead people would elect someone like you to be their leader."
Her face was red in anger at this point, shouting louder and louder, "Shut up! SHUT UP! I'LL BE THE NEXT HOKAGE, NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY!!"
"Ah yes, shutting off everyone that disagrees with you. That's good. You'll become a fine dictator someday," Helel sarcastically said to her.
Itachi sighed, "If you two are quite done, I have an announcement to make," that got their attention, at least, "Later this day, we will be conducting the secondary test of the genin exam."
"Huh? Haven't we passed the genin exam?" Sasuke asked, confused.
"Yes, the first part, that is. The second part will be conducted by me, your future jounin sensei. If you pass my test, you will successfully become a true genin. However, fail and you go back to the academy for a year. Once the clock hits three PM, meet me at the third training ground. That is all."
And then, he promptly disappeared.
Helel just stood up, and started walking away. Just as he was about to do the same thing as his future jounin sensei, he heard Azumi from behind him.
"You think I'll just let this go? I will be the greatest hokage the world has ever seen, believe it!!"
He sighed, and said, "Sure, sure, whatever makes you sleep at night," then disappeared in a fast blur.
The blonde girl gritted her teeth and stormed off, jumping down the rooftop.
Sasuke couldn't help but shake his head. He felt like a third wheel in a couple's lover spat. This must be why Itachi left. He stood up, and just as he was about to do the same thing as Azumi, he decided not to. He wanted to take things slow for the day, so he'll just walk to the clan compound.
Besides, his mom must've taken care of Sasuke the Third, his dog. Yes, he named his dog after him and Sarutobi Sasuke. So what? At least his name is cool. Imagine being named "Naruto". Now that's a shitty name.
(With Helel)
He didn't really hate Azumi, per se. In fact, he rather likes her since she is his blood sister. He just loved annoying her because it is quite amusing. She hasn't taken things to physical things yet, like trying to hit him when his back was turned. At least there's a sense of honor in her, not to attack a fellow konoha citizen.
But if Kushina hadn't made up with her, then she would've been a lot, lot worse than she is right now. She would've been a menace to society.
Of course he knew about the situation with his 'parents'. They've been living separately for almost 2 years now, and Minato had been ignoring his family for the sake of his work. Maybe due to the mistake he made years ago, AKA making him a pariah for the village, he must've turned his grief into motivation to work tirelessly.
In fact, there would be days when he'd rather choose to sleep in his office, rather than go back to his home. It is incredibly sad how a great man has turned into… that. Just waiting for the day that he dies, just like every Hokage before him.
In a way, taking the hat from his father is probably doing him a favor. At this point, he wouldn't die a hero's death but a worker's death.
Helel reached the house he's been calling home for years now, and there she was, sitting on her rocking chair in her lower terrace, peacefully knitting him another sweater for the winter this year. Maha has grown frailer and frailer over the years, and right now, she's pretty weak and vulnerable to illnesses.
It'd be right to hire a maid for her soon to take care of her.
Maha smiled at him rather weakly, as she stopped what she was doing to wave at him, saying, "Y-You're back rather early today. Let me just finish this, and I'll cook you something."
He walked towards her, and said, "No, you don't have to. I'll be meditating today, and I'd prefer if you don't work yourself today. The doctors said it's bad for your health."
"Ah, don't worry about those flesh bags. If I said I'd cook, I'd cook, no buts," she said, as she tried to stand up.
He smiled. That stubborn personality of hers is still there even after all these years. It might've been just 3 years but those years had been rough on her, considering that the lively old woman back then is now nothing but a frail person trying her best to make her foster son happy.
She's probably preparing him for his death, so that when she dies, he'd still have the memories they spent together. An endearing attitude to have. She worries more about her loved one than her own life.
Technically, it is not impossible to increase her lifespan up to 500 years. It's a pill Inner Energy users use to increase their own life but it can only be used once. The pill is called "500 Winters". It sounds like a very corny tv drama show but it is effective.
The thing is, he doesn't have the necessary ingredients to create the pill because those are pretty rare.
The heart of a fairy, a single tear from a phoenix, and the lotus flora, a plant that could rejuvenate someone from the brink of death. Those are the most important ingredients to make the 500 Winters Pill. But unfortunately, there seems to be no phoenix nor a fairy in this world.
Or if there are, they must've gone into hiding. They are introverted creatures that never show themselves to humans. But he had heard of summoning creatures, like the toads from Jiraiya the Sannin, or the slugs from Tsunade Senju.
Maybe there is a phoenix summon somewhere in this world. But then there are fairies. The heart of a fairy is pretty important in the process of making the pill.
But even if he somehow was able to acquire all the ingredients and successfully make the pill, there is still Maha's decision. Would she rather live up to 500 years or just… die?
Knowing her, Maha would choose to just die. She has suffered enough. She wouldn't want to suffer for another 500 years. She must've lived through the second and third shinobi wars. Just that is more than enough for people to want to die. But she managed to persevere, and lived to raise orphaned children, one of them being the current Hokage.
She is a woman worthy of praise.
And he'd let her rest to pay her back for all the things she did for him.
Time passed quickly when he was cultivating. He has reached the limit of arcane energy he could store inside his body. Once he manages to reach the demigod realm, an Arcane Sea would form around his dantian. And then when that happens, spiritual roots would also form inside of them.
Those spiritual roots determine how fast he can absorb the energy from the world and his natural element.
He can use elemental arcane spells, yes, but they consume more arcane energy. But not only would his spiritual root decrease the mana needed to perform a specific elemental spell, it would also boost that element's power.
Spiritual roots are what decides a cultivator's future, normally, back in his old world. It's because they are separated into 5 grades.
Low – Median – High – Excellent – Empyrean.
The reason he even reached the deity realm was because he had an Empyrean Grade Spiritual Root. But now, he doesn't know if he'll still have the same grade. But it doesn't matter, even if he receives a low grade spiritual root, he'll still be able to change it by using pills. Alchemy is useful like that.
In truth, even with an Empyrean Spiritual Root, he could still be considered average due to the history of that world.
There were many before him who had received not just 1, 2, or 3, but 4 Empyrean Grade Spiritual Roots. They were the elite of the elite, and all of them were invincible even beyond the heavens. But they all died in a great catastrophe, and the world was left with only weak cultivators.
That's why the gods managed to reign over them. If those cultivators hadn't died out, the gods wouldn't even dare to touch that world.
But even after their deaths, remnants of their existence still appeared in that world in the form of small dimensions that contained all of their inheritance for the younger generation. Usually, only those in the lower realms can enter those small dimensions but some can let anyone in any cultivation realm enter.
Anyway, that's why he managed to make himself feared all over that world due to the fact that he was the only deity realm cultivator. Making him the most powerful. And with his army of cultivators and non-cultivators alike, they were a force to reckon with.
Helel looked at the clock, and saw that it was nearing 3 o'clock in the afternoon. It's time to go now.
With that, he stood up from his bed, and went towards the door.
Azumi has more anger management problems in this one. It may because she was ignored by her dad since she was young, or that she just wants to prove herself to him. Either way, I'll try my best to develop her character throughout the series.
Sasuke's more carefree since in my fic, he was friends with Shikamaru. So it's reasonable that he got some of his friend's laid-back tendencies.
And with Sakura. I admit, I did a bad portrayal of her character back in my old fic. In this one, I'll make her more confident and a bit arrogant due to her, ah, high intelligence. She's basically a genius girl but she decided to become a ninja, instead of a merchant, like her father.
Hinata is, well, the cliche "cold beauty" in every cultivation novel ever. But she has more character than that, I swear.
Minato, due to the intense regret and lonliness he had, he became a workaholic. He never goes home, nor does he attend his daughter's birthday. But even then, he doesn't just ignore her, he protects her and his son every single day. In a way, he's trying to find redemption for himself but to no avail.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the chapter, comment your opinion on it, and as always, thank you for reading.
