Chapter 5: CHAPTER FOUR

EMILIAN'S POV

I watch as the alluring stranger quirks his eyebrows and chats with his plus one. His face takes the shape of an adorable bunny as he stuffs his mouth with huge chunks of the vanilla and chocolate cake I had served him earlier.

He's nasty and haughty and as much as I ought to hate him, I find myself helplessly pulled in by his aura, when I should glare with disdain, I drink of his deep brown eyes, his skin tone dripping rich chocolate, and his thick dark hair... As though I were jinxed.

For days, he frequented my shop, sometimes in the company of his friends and other times alone. And in those lone times, he was a thorn in my flesh, driving me crazy with his incessant orders, and as much as I hated him for that, his deep baritone oddly becomes the symphony I long for daily.

His eyes meet mine and I dart my gaze like I wasn't caught gawking. Knowing how troublesome he can be, I'm sure he wouldn't let this one act slide.

"Miss Emilian, chips and grilled turkey, please." Matt, my regular client places his order.

"On it, Matt." I stutter, glad to find a perfect distraction from Mr. Stranger. "A minute, please. Welcome."

Done with his order, I place it on the tray and leave my cubicle to get it delivered. He's sitting right next to Mr. Stranger, and while I try to focus on Matt, I find myself breathing hard, swallowing fluid that's like a knot in my throat.

"How was work? Hope you're good."

"I try." He shrugs. "I mean, we keep kicking, only that it's not for nine months."

"Right." I grin at his dry joke.

My eyes wander from Matt to the figure next to him, only to find his eyes locked on my frame. Swiftly, I look away yet again.

"Don't you agree, buddy?" Matt refers to the stranger, his dental bare.

One thing about Matt is that he's quite loud for his own good.

"Right..." he sneers, mocking me with his response.

"I'll be back, with the bill." I stutter before running back into the safety of my cubicle and away from his killer gaze.

I bet he knows he has this much effect on me, I'm beyond messed up, for lack of a better word.

Shit!
