7.69% A Contract to Marry the Cold-hearted CEO / Chapter 36: Chapter 36

Chapter 36: Chapter 36

He concluded he had just let the cat out of the bag as he watched his ex leave, stomping and driving off his property like a mad woman.

He knew Farrah would not waste time telling his mother about this. He had always known she and his mother hoped he would marry her. But he knew better than to fall into their trap.

"What do you think, Philip?" He asked his most trusted employee.

But truthfully, the older man was more than just someone working with him for years. He had been a second father to him, especially when his father died.

And he had always valued his advice. He might not act on many of them, but he knew they had been a big part of who he was today.

"I think. Whatever you are planning, you should do it as soon as possible." His butler pushed his phone on top of his desk toward him, indicating that his time was ticking and he had to act fast.

He hoped he would have more time to execute his plan before his family and the rest of the world knew about his new marital status.

"Yeah, I think so too." He agreed with him, seeing no other recourse.

Farrah's unexpected visit ruined everything. Now, he had to rethink his timetable. He had to move it up to the top of his priority.

"Then, you better get busy." Damon grabbed the phone to call his assistant. "We have much to do and little time to do it." He reminded the older man as he dialed a number.

"I will get the ball rolling, Sir." Philip bowed and turned, walking to the exit.

He had told the older man to stop calling him Sir and bowing down. But his butler was just as hard-headed as he was. He kept saying that old habits died hard.

"Thanks, Philip." He told the older man before he disappeared behind the door.

Then, he waited for his assistant to answer his call. It took a few rings before his assistant picked up, but he did not mind. It was the weekend and her break.

He did not wish to disturb her, but he needed her. It was an urgent matter that could not wait until Monday. Therefore, he would make it up to her and the rest of the staff, who would need to work on short notice.

After all, he always compensated hard work with a generous bonus.

"Wenna, listen." He waited for her response before continuing. "I do not have much time, but I need you to contact Ms. Leslie."

He waited until he had confirmed that she understood the rest of his instructions. "Tell her it needs to happen tonight."

So far, Ms. Leslie had not disappointed him before. She had handled many of his events with flying colors. But still, this situation was a bit time-constrained.

Therefore, he could only wonder if the woman was a miracle worker as they said she was. Could she pull this off?

"Call Philip if you run into any problem?" He told her assistant, knowing that his butler could handle the situation better than he could.

"Travis, the plan has to happen tonight." He informed his friend, one of the few who knew about his secrets.

"What happened? What is the rush?" His friend questioned him, sounding surprised by the change of plans.

"Farrah happened. She dropped by and met Jules." He did not need to spell it out. His friend would know what it meant.

"Oh!" His friend seemed to agree with him. "What about Jules? Do you think she is ready for this?" Travis sounded concerned.

"I think she can handle herself in tough situations." He could not help but remember how she slapped Farrah for calling their son a bastard.

Besides, he was paying her a large sum to do her job. He was sure that this was just a piece of cake for her. After all, she was good at acting and manipulating people.

"Then, I will see you tonight," Travis announced before ending the call.

Then, Damon dropped his phone on his desk and walked toward the window. He knew he heard voices coming from the pool.

And he was right. The person he needed was outside, under the sun, playing with their son by the pool. From his standpoint, he could see that they might be planning to take a swim.

After the encounter with Farrah, Jules took their son upstairs to change while he went straight ahead to his office. But he did not expect that they would lounge by the pool.

"We will see if you are worth what I am paying you, Ms. Jules Morgan." He mumbled as he stared at the woman, who was laughing at whatever Oliver said to her.

She was indeed beautiful, especially when she smiled. She would have a career in the movie industry if she had decided to work as an actress.

Then, his eyes turned to his son. He thought he would have difficulty communicating with a child due to his lack of experience.

But that was not the case with Oliver. He enjoyed their short ride and the lively interaction they had. He would not know if his assessment was correct. But he found him way smarter than an average boy.

"Maybe it was time that I join them for a swim." He thought to himself.

He checked his watch, finding they still had plenty of time before they had to prepare for his plans. Besides, this was his opportunity to talk to his wife.

Quickly, he made a stopover at his room to change. Then, he proceeded to the pool to find his wife standing by the poolside while their son dangled his feet on the water as he sat on the edge.

"Do you mind if I join you?" That was the words that came out of his lips.

But the words silently forming in his mind were a bit different. And he had no intention of saying them out loud as he looked at the almost naked body of his wife.
