"What the hell!" Jules whispered, avoiding adding noise to the loud commotion.

She was on her way to the kitchen to get a glass of water when she heard the loud clattering noise of what seemed to be broken glass and other things.

She debated whether to check it out or return to her room, but curiosity and concern forced her to investigate. It could be her husband in an accident. He might need her help.

"But it can also be an intruder." She reminded herself, suddenly worried for her safety.

But still, fear for her life had never been her priority, especially when she thought of protecting her son. If there was a trespasser inside the house, she needed to stop him.

She tiptoed her way to where the loud sound came from. She believed she heard it from the other side of the house, toward the narrow hallway.
