Would anyone blame Mia for being mad at Baiyi, though? He had humiliated her in public! As the crowd around her burst into a bout of unkind laughter, Mia could feel her cheeks burn; at that moment, she wished for nothing more than a cave to hide in.
She respected Baiyi with all her heart and considered him her second father. From time to time, she considered changing the way she addressed him. Sometimes, she even harbored a certain unbelievable sentiment towards him — someone she considered a father figure. She had placed him on a pedestal, but now, not even the great amount of respect she held for Baiyi could excuse Baiyi's insensitivity!
[1] I’m always curious about tiny little things, and now I’m curious about this: Do you True Believers wear shoes indoor? In my country, we take them off before entering the house and walk indoors barefooted. Depending on the resident of the house, you may take off your shoes after you crossed certain rooms or internal structure, or you may take off your shoes as early as before entering their yard. I can’t imagine walking with shoes on indoor in someone’s house, you know… Just thinking about it makes my soles itchy, and then as I scratch it now, I thought about how hard it would be to scratch that itch on my sole if I were wearing shoes. I’m sure those who are accustomed to wearing shoes at home would feel the same about walking barefooted? Anyway, as a maid by nature(this is really just a fancy way of saying that I’m inclined to do domestic duties haha), I wonder if wearing shoes indoor would dirty the floor since you know, you brought your shoes everywhere, right? At our place, it’s quite common to wash your feet after you take your shoes off (and honestly, I tut at those who failed to do so—again, naturally-made maid, you know?). What about you, True Believers?
