Solid book, would recommend. Isekai style intro, glad he used his wits of the current world instead of trying to make everything like his world. Few errors in translation, nothing a future edit couldnt fix and they are few and not annoying like others. Characters are basically stickmen in terms of development, but served their purpose enough as the story only follows the MC. A little dry in some areas since its constantly from one point of view usually, and not much on the world history or geography (not much description added to places described, i.e: “the mountains”) Aside from these, phenomenal on the other parts. Great read!

Just read it. It starts with a life of comedy and understanding. But ended with a tragic but untold ending. You will only understand this comment after reading the last chapter.

I can't even get past the first ten chapters because the story goes nowhere. It's not even background context for the characters. It wouldn't be that bad if the author didn't insist on writing an entire.Chapter about some stupid psych out war between the main character and his captor. I don't need 10 chapters that are very long. Chapters as well about back-and-forth between 2 characters with nothing involving the plot. Moving forward at all like literally. We are nowhere different than when the story first started. Besides, the fact that the main character can now use magic, which is shown to be absolutely useless in his current situation. And then when he does, he is magic in a way too kind of. Attempt to escape from the situation. You already know it's gonna go bad because the cleaners who are there to get rid of people who can use magic for some reason, the main character doesn't think that maybe they can sense people who can use magic or maybe they have a device to let them know who uses magic none of those logical. Thoughts go through our main character's head. Who the author is trying very hard to make us think is a smart person or at least good at deduction? And it completely takes away from the novel at the beginning. Like I don't know if the author wants to go for a serious novel. Since 10 chapters have been spent on what could easily be written in 2 or 3 paragraphs and still lose nothing of substance or if he wants to make a comedy because the system has no seriousness to it. And honestly pulls you out of the novel. I like the fact that the author tried to do something new with the trope. But. Making it so that the system was a literal pop-up ad essentially that would not help the main character and just pop-up s***** comments or literal.ADS from his old world is a very comical thing. And it doesn't add any committee relief to the situation.Because once again we're only ten chapters in and the story is going nowhere. I've looked at other reviews and from what a lot of people say. The story only really starts at around 50 chapters. But the problem with that on this novel is, it seems like it's one of those where you don't want to skip any chapters because of how long they are? So if I skip to chapter 50, I'm probably gonna be confused for around a 100 chapters but I can not stop my greeting. Another chapter of the main character trying to outwit their current captor it. The author doesn't know how to write that. Instead of it being a bunch of mind games it's a bunch of oh I let a bunch of loops in my story that I told this lady that she is totally gon to catch on to and not already be suspicious of me like the whole vibe at the beginning of the story just really throws me off and I can't get into it. I just have to reiterate again. There's a difference between writing a psycho competition and writing a useless baggage 10. Chapter peace that gets our character. Nowhere like literally he's no better off. He's no worse off. It didn't succeed it didn't fail because, at the end of the day. We already know that his captor didn't trust him from the start. There was 0 trust there. She was already suspicious of him. And from the little bit of background context we get on her. We already know that she's been suspicious of everybody and is willing to. Sacrifice her closest confidence for little to no reason so her having that kind of character makes it very hard to believe that she would be psyched out by the ramblings of a tied up noble that are desperately trying to save their height. It literally makes zero sense

The story unfolds during a time when knowledge is slowly emerging from the depths of ignorance. People are still discovering the many practical applications of magic, which were previously shrouded in mystery. However, the church remains an absolute menace, exerting its influence over the populace and instilling fear of magic, which they deem the devil's handiwork, and its perceived consequences. The protagonist's unwavering personality and consistent character throughout the novel make for an extremely satisfying read. The novel also masterfully shifts perspectives, allowing us to experience the impact of each event from different viewpoints, which is pretty rare and dope.Overall, this is a fun and unique read. I was surprised a lot by the things that happened, and I definitely recommend checking it out. Now, I'm off to go read some face-slapping novels!

The book was fine but by the last 50 chapters you could tell that the author had had enough and just through together the ending without much care to the rest of the book After 900 chapters of being ben he suddenly changed his mind and became the original guy again which ok I wouldn’t mind too much if that was all it was just a name change but no the mc completely changed and shut down every relationship he had as Ben under the excuse that he’s not ben even though but that point he had been ben for years. Completely ignored the relationship the brothers built in the early chapters and killed him with little fanfare while the kid was begging for his life

This novel was single handedly ruined by one character he gets transmigrated into a guy that was tortured to death all because of this one woman that wanted an item. the story will go on many more times were every time he is in trouble and about to die it is all because of her and the MC some how forgives her ..srlsy. and on top of that she saved him once after that and HAS to owe her a favor, after all harm she did to him. there is a plot that happens between ch 100-120 that is actually good were he is about to die but creates a situation that is actually kind of cool, but I told myself if she is there after he wakes up I am going to quit this novel.. guess what. I had hopped the way this was going he would learn magic on his own trail and error like he did before but it all indicates he will go to some school.... so yes all ruined by a unbearably annoying character and dumb MC

I'm new to review writing so I will keep it short. A decent story with a believable MC. One of the first novels I read and truth be told it was a really good one. It's good to have a slow-paced story with a weak MC from start and it's not like he became almighty from the get-go. Had so much fun reading it and I can only recommend it.

This novel starts with inminent danger and the Mc has no way of fighting back, only defending and fleeing. Eventually, he settles down and can improve, form a team and fight back, but there's still lots of danger. The fight for Fereldan is my favorite part, the church does prove to be an intelligent foe. Benjamin leads a few revolts in many countries, manages to form a mage army, and he improves his three spells to an awesome level. He can now stand against the church, but the Pope just holds him back. Their fights are awesome, and the final arc begins, and the finale is hyped up, but it just gets depressing by the twist of Cain mind controlling the Mc, and apparently 3 chapters are missing, and they are very important to see the thoughts and future of Benjamin, Miles/Mikel/Myles/Varis/Hidden Mc, and Elizabeth.

the biggest problem this novel seems to have is its inability to juggle a lot of things at once. lots of plot threads just forgotten or returns like a hundred chapters away, too many solutions o a certain problem so it gets messy and tangled up becoming a subpar solution, and the plot goes too fast that the characters don't really get developed at all, other than the mc all the other characters are basically just one-dimensional cardboard cutouts. the author was able to manage it well at the start, gave the characters a good amount of life to them but as the story progressed(around ch 250 I believe) they started losing their "life"

Everything was good until chapter 60 Spoiler The mc first got kidnap by by a group lead by Michelle a female mage, it end up being that Michelle has scheme, and all her teammate got done in, by the church, an organization deal with mage. MC was able to get out of the kidnapping with some trick which almost kill him, but now his is the enemy of Michelle right, MC become a mage so he also become enemy of church, but after getting into a bad situation, Michelle save him, which btw, she is related to the reason he get into those situation as well, and who know weather she was the one who set that up since she is very scheming, but MC turn out to actually want to work with her, that fine, but he show all his trump card to her, and even those her his secret about the mind reading. So, the reason I said it turn bad is that, It was first the MC, the Church and Michelle was playing a mind game. But, all of a sudden, Michelle being his most trusted ally just because she save him and show him a great give of removing the curse SHE put on him. Somehow he feel so grateful that he now her trusted partner. ???? It turn from Death note theme to Harem anime character theme with dense MC.

a solid 5/5: the Main Character is a bit different than what's considered mainstream on this website - in a way I personally prefer. Side Charakters are flashed out a lot, too. The world (as of chapter 50) is quite interesting. The story combines humor and dark seriousness in a very appealing way. Some might consider it a bit slowpaced, but I feel like the speed is perfect and helps add to the dept of the narration

a solid 5/5: the Main Character is a bit different than what's considered mainstream on this website - in a way I personally prefer. Side Charakters are flashed out a lot, too. The world (as of chapter 50) is quite interesting. The story combines humor and dark seriousness in a very appealing way. Some might consider it a bit slowpaced, but I feel like the speed is perfect and helps add to the dept of the narration
