Chapter 2026: Broth's confession

Today was another beautiful day. I lay in my warm and comfortable nest, closing my eyes to enjoy the rare sunlight bath.

Rice nudged me with his nose, asking me why I ate so little for breakfast and if I was feeling uncomfortable.

I replied,"it's always like this when I'm old."

Basking in the sun, he felt drowsy, as if he was recalling the past.

"Aiya, this little dog is really good-looking." A clear voice suddenly sounded in his ear.

"Since you like it, we'll buy this one." A man's voice followed.

And so, from the moment I was born with consciousness, I stayed in the cage and was brought to a strange place in a daze.

It was a brighter and more spacious place. I had a new cage there, alone with no other companions to share.

"Looking at your color and curly hair, you're obviously a poodle. I'll call you obedient. You look quite obedient anyway." The clear voice squatted in front of the cage and tried to pour some food into the bowl.
