Chapter 2: Worst Birthday Ever!
"We're finally here", Kendra exclaimed with relief. "Yeah, who knew so many people enjoyed magic convections", Mia said. "Oliver, do you have enough money?" asked Kendra. Anna clarified, "Enough for all of us, right?" Oliver remarked, "Wait, You guys didn't bring any money." "No f*ck! Your birthday is today. You are required to support us "Kendra expressed her annoyance. Oliver said, "I believe it to be the other way, but I do have $100, so yeah". The atmosphere was incredibly lively, as you could feel it thanks to the wind in their hair, bright light everywhere, and people moving about. Mia questioned, "Where should we go first?" "Let's visit the floating man", Anna suggested. "The phrase "floating man" is ridiculous. I'm visiting the fire breathers. Quite fascinating ", said Kendra. "I am also interested in dragons" said Mia."They are not dragons just man who breathe fire. You have much to learn about New york. Let's go" commanded Kendra as she dragged Mia away.
Anna said, "Let's go," and Oliver walked after her into the massive crowd to see the floating man. As Oliver stepped on a man who yelled, "Watch your step, man!" " I'm sorry about tha"t, Anna yelled back. The floating man performed numerous tricks, such as jumping through hoops. A woman shouted, "This dude is fake!" as she held her son. "Yeah. Prove to us you're not using ropes "a teenager added from behind. When the floating man agreed, his female assistant threw a knife at him. He waved the knife above his head and said, "Here is proof." Nothing appeared to stop the knife motion. The teen speculated, "He's probably using electrons to float or something." As he approached the crowd, he declared, "I assure you that I truly can fly. He appeared above their heads to their collective amazement. He yelled, "No electons here!
Meanwhile, Mia and Kendra were getting popcorns from a vendor. "Man, now I wish I could breathe fire." said Kendra. "Yeah, I'm sure you'd have burned Thomas down by now. How did the fight even end? "Mia stated. "Let's just say Thomas is more brawn than brains," she says, recalling beating Thomas with her two older brothers. "Let's just say I got some assistance. Never, ever bring a sword to a gunfight "Kendra added
"Man!, I can't believe watching a floating man is only $20!" exclaimed Oliver. "Let's get some popcorn," Anna suggested, and Oliver agreed cheerfully. "Popcorn for two," Oliver said that as he handed over the money. "I'd like some cotton candy," Anna said. "I'm not sure I have enough money for cotton candy," Oliver admitted."It's just that...if it had been my birthday, I would have totally bought cotton candy for us," the devious Anna explained. Oliver reluctantly purchases the cotton candy. Anna replied, "Thank you, dude."
While Oliver was counting his money, Anna drew him over to a mind reader booth. While the mindreader is performing some incantations, Oliver says to Anna, "Mind readers are as fake as shit." "Fake!" exclaimed the elderly lady. "How the fuck do you know my name?" Oliver wondered. "I know everything, including where you live, your age, your mother's boyfriend, and the truth about your father," the woman said. "What do you mean by the truth behind my father?" Oliver inquired."It's better if I show you," she said, extending her hand. The Woman began her incantations as Oliver gripped her hand. Oliver begins having flashbacks to all of his dreams, including the large bunny, wolf, blue-liquid, and a memory of his father saying to him when he was 5 years old, "I do this for the best of my people."
The strong wind blew out of the stall and swept the entire magic convention. As Oliver begins to float, rays of light surround him. "Oliver, Oliver!" Anna yelled from the side. Anna rushes to Oliver as he collapses on the ground. "That will be $25," the now-smiling woman said.Anna, with a puzzled expression, pays the lady out of fear. Oliver awakens, but is now delirious about his surroundings, and Anna walks him out.
She summons the others, and they board a cab. Mia and Kendra entered Kendra's rental apartment as the cab dropped the other off. "Take care of Oliver," Mia said as she and Kendra entered Kendra's rental apartment. Oliver awakens from his dream and is dropped off at the corner. He starts walking down the street when he has flashbacks of what happened in the stall, the creatures, and his father.
He appeared to be a teenage drunkard due to his confusion. He hears a noise from a nearby trashcan and notices a large figure in the shadows but is unsure what it is.The figure appears to be moving as it emerges from the shadows. As a dog-like creature pursues Oliver, he begins to flee. "I don't taste good," Oliver yelled as he threw trash cans by the side of the road. A humming sound was heard just as a glowing ball was about to hit Oliver. The shooter exclaimed, "Coode!" , "Is anyone there? Please assist! Call animal control or the cops ". The shooter tries again and blows up the creature. "Drokes the Fallort goos," exclaimed the shooter.
Oliver is taken aback and runs into a building, hiding behind a counter. Someone opens the entrance to the building. The individual walks around the ground floor.When Oliver receives a surprise greeting, he is attempting to control his breathing. "Gortda!" she exclaimed, knocking Oliver out.
