(Chapter Starts;)
As someone who spent years writing transmigration novels, Ryuji quickly adapted to his new reality the moment he opened his eyes.
The beach was a battlefield.
Spears tore through the air, striking bodies with terrifying precision. Blood splattered violently with each impact—not the sanitized version he remembered from movies.
Bullets zipped through the air, taking down one Amazonian warrior after another in slow motion.
Ryuji felt an urge to act.
Perhaps it was his disdain for Steve Trevor's overplayed heroism. Or maybe it was the thought of impressing Diana Prince—Wonder Woman herself, the goddess he'd admired from afar in his past life.
And let's not forget—she was the real deal.
With Felid Justin's magic abilities now imprinted into his mind, Ryuji understood his powers instinctively.
His magic centered around two abilities: "Spell" and "Dark Text."
"Spell": This allowed Ryuji to write enchantments on an area, forcing rules upon anyone who entered it. Violating those rules triggered devastating consequences.
For instance, if he wrote "Users of ranged weapons will lose all strength," anyone wielding a gun or bow would find themselves powerless.
"Dark Text": This ability worked on individuals. By writing specific words on someone—or even on himself—he could enforce effects directly. Writing "Pain" on a target caused them to experience excruciating agony, while writing "Shield" on himself created a powerful magical defense.
Gazing at the faint black energy flickering in his hands, Ryuji could almost feel the power of manipulating rules.
"An enchantment that controls reality itself," he whispered to himself, smirking. "Yeah, this is top-tier magic."
But this wasn't the time for an in-depth study session. The battlefield needed his attention.
First things first—buff himself. Ryuji quickly scribbled several Dark Text symbols onto his skin:
"Wings": To grant him the ability to fly.
"Rebound": To deflect any attacks aimed at him.
###
The moment the text sank into his body, heat surged through him. His back felt like it was on fire as a pair of enormous, black, feathered wings erupted from his shoulder blades, glowing faintly with dark energy.
Hippolyta, charging into the fray with her warriors, paused mid-gallop, eyes wide as she spotted him.
Before anyone else noticed, Ryuji flapped his wings and launched into the sky.
Wind roared in his ears.
Below him, Steve Rogers ducked as a massive shadow flashed over the battlefield.
"What the hell was that?" Steve muttered, narrowly avoiding a bullet.
Ryuji, soaring above it all, laughed as the thrill of flying coursed through him. "This is insane! So this is what freedom feels like!"
Then—BANG.
A bullet struck his chest.
Thankfully, Rebound activated, deflecting the shot harmlessly. Still, the force of the impact startled him, making him lose altitude for a moment.
"Alright," Ryuji muttered, regaining balance. "Time to clean this up."
He swooped down like a hawk, targeting a German soldier.
The soldier panicked, firing his rifle. His aim was off, and Ryuji grabbed him by the collar, yanking him off the ground before flying high.
"Death."
Ryuji scrawled the word mid-air with his finger, and black energy crackled as the spell took effect. The soldier screamed, clutching his chest in agony before going limp.
Ryuji dropped him, watching as the lifeless body hit the ground.
"Effective," he said, smirking. "But let's speed this up."
Hovering mid-air, Ryuji raised both hands. Black-purple magic circles formed at his fingertips as he unleashed "Fear" spells on the remaining soldiers.
One by one, German troops fell to their knees, screaming and clawing at invisible terrors. Some threw down their weapons. Others ran blindly into the chaos.
Steve, stunned, kept fighting while glancing at the winged figure above. Diana, too, stared in awe, unsure what to make of the strange new ally.
But their shock gave the remaining soldiers time to regroup. One raised his rifle, aiming straight at Diana.
Ryuji's eyes narrowed.
"Not today."
He whispered, "Absolute Defense."
A glowing shield enveloped Diana just as the bullet was fired. The projectile ricocheted harmlessly off the barrier.
But Antiope, who had stepped forward to shield Diana, wasn't so lucky. The bullet struck her chest, and she collapsed to the ground.
"NO!" Diana screamed, dropping to her knees to cradle Antiope. Blood seeped through her fingers as she tried desperately to stop the bleeding.
Antiope gasped, her voice barely a whisper. "Diana… you must… carry on…"
"Antiope, no! Please stay with me!"
From above, Ryuji clicked his tongue in annoyance. "Damn it, I forgot this part of the movie."
He hesitated. Did he care enough to save Antiope? Not really. But this could be his chance to earn Diana's trust.
With that, Ryuji folded his wings and dove down, landing with a heavy thud beside the two women.
"I can help," he said in broken English, his voice firm but rushed.
Diana looked up at him, tears streaming down her face, desperate for any solution.
Without waiting for a reply, Ryuji quickly knelt beside Antiope, writing "Heal" in the sand.
Dark energy flowed into her wound as the spell activated...
