Then came his somewhat helpless voice:

"Emma seems to have had a nightmare, woke up scared, and has been crying for you..."

Laurent immediately hung up the phone, threw off the blanket, and hurriedly rushed out in her slippers. At that moment, her only thought was of her crying daughter, gasping for breath.

His room was right next door. He was already standing by the door, opening it for her. She didn't care about anything else and quickly slipped inside, heading straight for the bedroom.

The little girl was sitting on the bed, wiping away tears as she cried. The sight was truly heart-wrenching.

Laurent went over, pulled her daughter into her arms, and softly comforted her, walking back and forth as she rocked her. Eventually, the little girl, safe in her mother's embrace, drifted off to sleep again.
