Chapter 23: Chapter 23- where had she gone?

After Emma Washington, Laurent's daughter, recovered from acute gastroenteritis after a week, that evening around 8 PM, Laurent was still waiting downstairs as usual to receive Tiffany, who would be bringing her daughter back.

Every time Tiffany took her daughter, she would always bring her back at 8 PM. If Emma was staying the night with Tiffany, she would call ahead to inform Laurent.

However, this time, what Laurent ended up seeing was Dave, who drove Emma back. It had been a while since they last saw each other, not since the incident where Laurent splashed water on Dave's face.

Every time Tiffany dropped Emma off, she would usually walk over to the car's back door to lift her out of the car seat. But now, seeing Dave, Laurent simply stood still, unwilling to move.

She didn't want to see him. If it weren't for having to receive her daughter, she would have turned and walked away.
