Chapter 19: Chapter 19- She doesn't get to decide

Laurent calmly hung up the phone with Dave. Every time they spoke or met, it ended in an argument, in discord.

She was exhausted.

However, no matter how tired she was, she had to pull herself together, because she still had her daughter and her parents to care for.

Her daughter, Emma, took three days to fully recover, and Laurent had taken a leave of absence to stay home and look after her.

As for work, Adeline had inquired for her. The manager of the clothing store said they would schedule an interview soon. Laurent believed she had a good chance. During her years married to Dave, she had gained considerable knowledge of fashion, both women's and men's wear.

She had also reached out to a lawyer again, and the lawyer seemed interested in taking on her case. Laurent planned to meet with him in person once Emma was fully recovered.
