Chapter 47: Chapter 47: One-Star Bloodline Wizard

Before Blom could react to Su Nan's warning, an invisible wind blade slashed through his armor, neck, and head in a single stroke.

Blom's head flew into the air, his eyes wide with shock as he stared at his body from above.

The wolves howled in fury, their cries echoing through the battlefield.

Blom's severed head traced an arc through the air before landing on the grass. Even in his final moments, his mind struggled to comprehend the suddenness of his death.

The Bulgar cultist smirked, his battle axe wreathed in swirling, razor-sharp winds. He turned to Wolf Two, crouched in a defensive posture, and raised the weapon high.

"Let's start by killing this mage lord's magical minions," he sneered.

The cultist's eyes gleamed with a manic light. "To think, I have the Blind Nun to thank for this strength. Her gift made me a One-Star Bloodline Wizard!"

"Tonight, I'll break through this so-called mage's territory. Glory to the Supreme Cult!"

As he prepared to bring his axe down on Wolf Two, something caught his eye. His half-blind pupils constricted as he noticed movement to his side.

Blom's body, despite having been decapitated, stood upright. The headless form bent down, picked up its severed head, and reattached it to its neck.

The wound closed rapidly, the flesh knitting itself back together as though it had never been damaged.

The cultist staggered back a step in disbelief.

Su Nan, observing through the wolf pack link, spoke calmly through Blom.

"Interesting. Your so-called spell is a manifestation of your bloodline, granting you limited access to a specific type of magic. But you don't understand the principles behind it, do you?"

"You're nothing more than a living weapon. Your bloodline provides the ammunition, and you fire it blindly without comprehension."

Su Nan's analysis continued. "It seems the term 'One-Star Bloodline Wizard' corresponds to the capabilities of a three-star apprentice mage. However, your power comes at a cost—each use brings you closer to blindness."

The Bulgar cultist clenched his teeth, glaring at the reanimated Blom. "You're...you're not the same werewolf from before, are you?"

Su Nan didn't answer.

If Blom had been a regular werewolf, he would have died. But super werewolves possess four layers of immortality. Even decapitation isn't fatal as long as the head is reattached within ten minutes.

Through his Mindlink, Su Nan had already analyzed the cultist's attacks. Each swing of the axe unleashed an invisible wind blade, powerful enough to slice through steel armor.

But this wasn't ordinary wind.

The residual frost that lingered on the cut surfaces suggested an otherworldly origin. The cultist's bloodline appeared to draw on the energy world, granting him command over an unusual type of wind imbued with destructive and freezing properties.

Su Nan concluded, "Ultimately, you're just a tool. It's not your skill that's remarkable—it's the bloodline you inherited. Without it, you'd be nothing."

Enraged, the cultist roared, "Who cares about the details? As long as I can kill, I'll use this power! What good is theory when I can just cut you down?"

"Wind of Indifference!"

He swung his axe again, sending another wind blade hurtling toward Blom.

But this time, Su Nan had anticipated the attack. Through the wolf link, he guided Blom's body into a sidestep, narrowly avoiding the strike.

The cultist's wind blade sliced through the ground instead, carving a clean line into the earth.

The cultist froze in shock. "You...you dodged it?"

Su Nan's voice echoed coldly. "Of course. Understanding the principle makes it easy to evade."

He continued, "If you understood your own power, you might find a way to mitigate its flaws. For instance, your encroaching blindness might be reversible."

"But instead, you recklessly wield your ability without thought. You squander potential, treating a gift as nothing more than a blunt tool."

Even as he spoke, Su Nan released subtle waves of magical energy at thirty-second intervals, probing the cultist's body for further insights.

His observations confirmed that the cultist's baseline spirit was 2.5, far below the norm for such power. Yet when activating his bloodline, the cultist's spirit surged to 7, equivalent to a seasoned three-star mage apprentice.

Su Nan's curiosity deepened. If he could unravel the mechanisms behind this transformation, it might be possible to replicate or adapt the effect for his own purposes.

The Wind of Indifference, too, held potential for study. Its power seemed disproportionately high compared to the cultist's physical and magical capabilities.

Su Nan smirked. "It seems every encounter with the energy world brings new opportunities."

Through the wolf link, he coordinated with Blom, splitting control of the super werewolf's body. Su Nan managed the legs, focusing on dodging attacks, while Blom controlled the arms.

"Blom, your thanks are unnecessary," Su Nan said. "I only reattached your head because it suited my purposes."

Blom chuckled nervously, even as he moved with precision under Su Nan's guidance. "Regardless, I owe you my life. Without your intervention, I'd be dead."

Su Nan replied, "Enough talk. Take over your legs—I'll handle the arms."

The cultist, meanwhile, grew increasingly unhinged as his attacks continued to miss. His swings became erratic, carving empty lines through the air.

"Why won't you stand still?" he screamed, his voice cracking with frustration. "I can't hit you! Why can't I hit you?!"

Su Nan's voice cut through the chaos. "Because you've already lost. You just haven't realized it yet."
