The Feast of Lupercal continued, a vivid spectacle of Rome's devotion to its gods and traditions. But for Leo, the celebration was a backdrop to the tension building around him. As Caesar moved through the throngs of citizens, his presence commanding awe and adoration, Leo couldn't shake the weight of the system's message: "The Echo of the Ides". The soothsayer's ominous warning had followed him like a drumbeat, each repetition reminding him of the storm that was coming.
Mark Antony, never far from Leo, had broken the silence with smooth voice. "The Ides of March may be far, but the moves are happening now, in whispers and shadows. What role do you have to play in this?"
Leo hesitated. "I'm still figuring that out."
Antony chuckled, a deep, knowing sound. "You're no ordinary Roman, Leo. You carry something. different. I'll trust you when you say that, for now, you're an ally. Just remember, every choice has consequences."
As Antony walked away to join Caesar, a familiar system hologram flickered before Leo.

The numbers and descriptions lit up dimly before vanishing into the air. Leo clenched his fists. Strategic Insight. The system was preparing him for something monumental.
As the merriment subsided, Leo strolled through the streets, watching senators and citizens alike. He heard them in the distance whispering to each other in a corner of the forum, their tone subdued but their faces stern. He didn't think. He moved closer, stepping between people until he could catch their words.
"…Caesar grows too powerful," Cassius was saying, his voice laced with venom. "Rome cannot afford to become a monarchy. It's time we remind the people of their voice."
Brutus was frowning, his inner conflict evident. "I have no love for tyranny, but Caesar has been a friend…"
"And will you let friendship blind you to duty?" pressed Cassius. "You have always been Rome's ideal. Imagine the weight your name carries in this. Without you, the people will not listen."
Leo triggered Strategic Insight, the skill stirring like an instinct within him. In his mind, a web of possibilities unraveled: Brutus siding with Cassius, tipping the balance against Caesar; the conspirators emboldened, their plot growing; and, most importantly, the fallout if the assassination succeeded. Blood in the streets. Chaos in the Senate.
As Brutus wavered, his decision weighing within him, Leo knew that he had to step into action. Stepping forward, he spoke in an even, measured tone. "Stranger still to see you both here, conspiring in the shadow of Lupercalia's celebration."
Both of them stiffened, and their eyes narrowed.
"And who are you to question us?" Cassius asked his voice sharp.
"Just an observer," Leo said, with just enough charm to go. "One who wonders whether you really understand what path you're about to undertake. Rome is watching you. History is watching you."
Brutus winced, struck by the weight of the words. But Cassius always had been the serpent in the grass. He leaned closer, his smile all but sneering. "You speak with confidence for a stranger. What would you do in our place?"
Leo met his gaze without flinching. "I would remember that power can destroy not only those who wield it but those who envy it."
Cassius's smile faltered, but his eyes gleamed with suspicion. "You speak as though you know more than you let on."
Leo shrugged, his expression neutral. "Perhaps I do. Perhaps I simply see what others cannot."
The thread of tension between them went unseen, hanging thick, waiting to snap with the wrong move.
