At that moment Kai's eyebrows twitched slightly, processing the information. He glanced toward Zachary, who was quietly listening from his desk, his sharp gaze betraying an interest he wasn't voicing.

After some moment of quietness It was Zachary who broke the silence.

"Who told you about the ghosts?" he asked, his voice measured but curious.

Then Kai turned to him, his expression unreadable.

"A couple of men," he said, his tone casual.

Zachary tilted his head slightly, studying Kai.

"What kind of men?"

Kai smirked faintly.

"Drunk men," he added, the lie slipping easily off his tongue.

However Zachary didn't respond immediately, but the subtle narrowing of his eyes suggested he didn't entirely buy Kai's explanation.

He returned to his file without another word.

At that moment the office erupted in laughter, the tech guy leading the charge as he leaned back in his chair.
