Chapter 24: _Rough, As Promised

"Phoebe!" I bellowed, my hands firm on the handrails on the staircase as I followed behind her.

But she ignored me, clutching on her dress without looking back.

I watched her taking off the earrings, necklace, and bracelets I'd given to her through her maid, Miranda.

She didn't end there, turning back and throwing them on my body.

"You can take those as well. Tell me when you're done with your side piece downstairs." She sneered, eyeing me with contempt.

However, when she turned around again and was about to walk away, I ran after her.

She turned back and saw me and didn't stop, instead running as fast as she could through the halls to her suite.

"Phoebe, stop these games now!" I ordered but she didn't comply, ignoring the few maids who walked past us all looking confused.

Finally, she got to her suite but before she could open the doors, I got to her and grabbed her by her right elbow.
