Chapter 49: Fevered Kisses, Stolen Hearts

Rivana's breath hitched, his husky voice sending tingles through her body. Though his gaze was dark and filled with hunger, there was a hint of uncertainty. It was as if he was wondering if she was ready and wouldn't regret it later, unlike him.

She realized how he had never crossed the line whenever he teased her. Memories flashed in her mind, each one showing how he retracted just as he was about to completely lose control. It ignited a fire in her heart and, at the same time, warmed it. He was asking for her consent, and she had no clue what good deed she had done to stumble upon this one heck of a man.

Instead of replying with words, Rivana leaned closer and captured his lips.

Azrael's eyes subtly widened, his grip on her waist tightening as her lips pressed softly against his. Rivana pulled back slightly, her eyes searching his, wondering if he had found the answers to all his doubts.
