Anabella tried looking at the pair in the eye, but she felt like the air was awkward. Compared to her, the alpha pair did not even think anything was wrong.

Or if they did, they were too good at hiding their feelings from her.

"Are you sure you want to head back now? Your heat just ended, so you might still feel some side effects. If possible, I would like to have you in a place to observe you and ensure you are alright for the next 24 hours."

Clair spoke in a worried voice, and a part of Anabella's brain assured her that the alpha was only saying these words because she was a medical professional who wanted what was best for her.

However, a bigger part of Anabella felt hopeful that this worry also meant that her friend was more interested in her than just her health.
