Chapter 29: The Hunt Ends

The land was finally quiet, its song dead. The melody of the hummingbirds was gone. The drums of gargantuan beasts charging at each other were gone. The harmony created by all the other species' interplay was gone.

Everything that detailed life was gone, incinerated by Kai's flames.

The only memory of their existence was found in his strength, the souls he had corrupted. The beasts he had claimed for himself.

'There's still something left to do.' Kai thought to himself, knowing Shuzen was out there.

The bastard was fighting for his life against the Chucadori. Allowing him to die was something Kai couldn't allow.

Curling his hand into a fist, Kai's eyes became slit as he gritted his teeth. His entire body tensed at the very idea of Shuzen getting off that easily. The bastard had poisoned him... the bastard was probably threatening his mom as well. Even if she was oblivious to the dangerous game they played.
