Chapter 71: Flight of the Dragon

Shenlog, seated in his dimly lit office, leaned back in his chair and dialed the number for the borderline station. He brought the phone to his ear, waiting for the familiar tone. Nothing came. Frowning, he tried again. The call failed once more. A wave of unease washed over him as he set the phone down on his desk.

"This isn't right," Shenlog muttered to himself. Rising from his seat, he grabbed his pristine white Sentinel coat, its edges gleaming in the soft light. With a swift motion, he threw it over his broad shoulders and headed toward the door.

As he opened the door to leave, he found Jingwei standing just outside, his arms crossed and a smirk tugging at his lips.

"What are you doing here?" Shenlog asked, his tone sharp but curious.

Jingwei shrugged. "Well, if you're going to stand here talking to yourself about Drake 'disgracing the family name,' I figured I'd join in on the fun."

Shenlog's expression darkened, but he shook his head. "There's no time for this. There's something more urgent right now. Come with me."

Without waiting for a reply, Shenlog stepped past Jingwei and walked toward the edge of the high-ranking Sentinel building. Jingwei followed, his eyes narrowing in confusion.

"What are you—" Jingwei began, but Shenlog cut him off by leaping off the edge of the building. Jingwei rushed forward, watching in alarm as his father plummeted toward the ground.

Before he could shout, a massive dragon materialized beneath Shenlog, its dark scales shimmering in the light. Its enormous wings clapped against the air, creating gusts of wind that shook the surrounding area. Shenlog landed gracefully on the creature's back, his stance steady as the dragon ascended.

Shenlog looked up toward his son, his voice booming. "Are you coming or not?"

Jingwei sighed, shaking his head as he stepped back from the edge. "You know, there's a door, Father!" he called down, exasperated.

The dragon flapped its wings again, rising higher until it was level with Jingwei. Shenlog extended a hand, gesturing for him to climb aboard.

"Just get on," Shenlog said flatly.

Jingwei hesitated for a moment, then climbed onto the dragon's broad back. "You're unbelievable," he muttered under his breath.

The dragon roared, its powerful wings beating rhythmically as it soared through the sky, heading toward the borderline. The wind rushed past them, carrying the faint scent of ash and the distant hum of energy spikes. Shenlog's expression remained stoic, his mind focused on the unknown danger awaiting them.

Back at the borderline, the air was heavy with tension. Jin, his breathing now steady, stood facing Agent 66. The eerie figure's parasol-like hat tilted slightly, its masked faces watching Jin with an unnatural stillness.

Jin's body ached from the previous assault, but his mind was sharp, analyzing every move of his opponent. He muttered to himself, his voice low and deliberate. "If he's dodging my attacks using psychic abilities, then I'll have to try something else."

His mind flashed back to Seiji's words, advice given during their grueling training sessions. "The Baam Slash," Seiji had said, his tone grave. "It's not just powerful—it's instant, unseeable, and beyond the senses. If you can use it properly, nothing will escape it."

Jin gritted his teeth. The time had come to put the technique to the test.

A faint wisp of black smoke began to emanate from his eyes and body, a dark aura that pulsed with growing intensity. The air around him grew colder as his speed and strength surged, his movements becoming sharper and more precise. Without hesitation, he blitzed toward Agent 66, his sword in hand.

The clash of steel echoed through the battlefield as Jin launched a flurry of strikes, each one faster and more forceful than the last. Agent 66 moved with an unsettling grace, dodging each swing with precise, almost mechanical movements. Sparks flew as Jin's blade sliced through the air, carving deep scars into the ground around them.

"Faster," Jin muttered under his breath, his attacks growing more aggressive. Agent 66's hat spun slightly, its masked faces tilting as if mocking Jin's efforts.

The final swing came, a powerful horizontal slash aimed directly at Agent 66's torso. The enigmatic figure dodged at the last moment, his parasol hat shifting to counter Jin's momentum.

But Jin was ready.

"Baam Slash!" he roared, his voice echoing across the battlefield.

In that instant, time seemed to freeze. A surge of invisible energy erupted from Jin's sword, its force cutting through the air with unparalleled speed. For the first time, Agent 66's parasol hat failed to protect him. A deep gash appeared across its surface, nearly splitting it in two.

The energy didn't stop there. Slash after slash materialized across Agent 66's body, each one precise and devastating. The powerful force sent him flying backward, his body crashing into the shattered remains of the battlefield.

Agent 66 lay still for a moment, his form obscured by a cloud of dust and debris. Jin, his breathing heavy, lowered his sword slightly, his eyes narrowing as he studied his opponent.

Behind the barrier, Seiji's eyes widened slightly. He leaned forward, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Well, well," he muttered to himself. "The kid actually did it."

Urashima, standing beside him, stared in disbelief. "He… he landed a hit. On that thing."

Seiji didn't reply, his gaze fixed on Jin. The dark aura surrounding him had faded, but the faint trace of black smoke lingering in the air suggested that something deeper had been unleashed.

Chapter 72: Reformation of Chaos

Amidst the debris and chaos of the battlefield, Agent 66 staggered to his feet. His once multiplicitous masked hats began to twirl, their motion blurring into a frenzy. In a moment of surreal stillness, the masks converged into a single, massive die, its spots ominously visible as it spun above his head. With a grotesque gesture of surrender to transformation, Agent 66 opened his mouth wide, swallowing the die whole.

As the die disappeared, a profound silence fell over the battlefield. Then, without warning, the transformation began. Agent 66's body convulsed violently, his form breaking apart piece by piece as if decomposing before their eyes. What emerged from the chaos was a figure both majestic and terrifying. A towering entity, shrouded in a long, flowing robe that cascaded to the ground like liquid amber. From his shoulders sprouted an intricate array of chained dice, each link clinking with metallic finality as they hovered ominously around him.

The new form of Agent 66 was a surreal sight. His head, now a large die itself, was marked by black spots that seemed to shift with his every movement, reflecting the capricious nature of chance itself. The chains connected to his die-head extended outward, each end tethered to smaller dice that danced in the air like marionettes controlled by an unseen puppeteer.

Without a word, Agent 66 unleashed his newly formed power. The chained dice shot forward with incredible speed, defying the very laws of nature. The first die hurled towards Jin, who instinctively raised his sword to deflect it. The impact was tremendous, sending shockwaves through the ground. As the die made contact, Jin felt his energy sap away, a staggering 50% reduction in his reserves instantaneously.

Before Jin could recover, a second die followed the trajectory of the first. This time, Jin managed to redirect it, but not without consequence. The moment it veered off its intended path, it exploded in a burst of flames reminiscent of the masked explosions from before.

Jin stumbled back, his vision blurring. The attacks were relentless and brutally efficient. He tried to activate his Sight, but the speed of the attacks left him grappling in vain. Even with his ability to foresee movements, the rapid succession and overwhelming force of the dice left him defenseless.

Seiji, watching from a distance behind the barrier, turned to Urashima. His voice was tense, a rare edge of concern threading through his words. "These attacks… they're not just powerful. They're designed to suppress his abilities, to keep him from leveraging his Sight effectively."

Urashima clenched his fists, his brow furrowed as he watched Jin struggle. "Is there anything we can do from here?" he asked, desperation creeping into his tone.

Seiji shook his head, his gaze never leaving Jin. "Not while this barrier holds us. He's on his own out there."

The battlefield echoed with the clink of chains and the thud of dice rolling towards their target. Jin braced himself, his every sense heightened as he prepared for the next onslaught.

Let's adjust that to correctly reflect Shenlog initiating the conversation about his ability and Jingwei's insights:

Chapter 54: Reformation of Chaos (Continuation)

As the dragon soared through the turbulent skies, Shenlog broke the tense silence. "Jingwei," he began, his voice carrying over the rush of the wind, "I know you have the ability to see past events, the fragments of things recently passed. You investigated the event at the Pit. What happened? What is it with that boy, Jin?"

Jingwei adjusted his stance on the dragon's back, bracing himself against the powerful gusts. "When I traced back to that day," he replied, his voice laced with confusion and concern, "it wasn't the boy who was fighting. He looked… possessed, completely overtaken. It was as if a demon was in control, suggesting that the boy holds something dangerous inside of him."

Shenlog's expression darkened, his jaw tightening. A low hum emanated from his throat, a sound of deep contemplation mixed with growing apprehension. "A demon, you say?" he mused aloud, his tone grave.

Before Jingwei could respond, a distant explosion shattered the brief calm. A massive boom resonated through the skies, sending shockwaves that buffeted the dragon. Debris hurled upwards from the ground below, dotting the sky with dark specks.

"I knew it," Shenlog muttered, more to himself than to Jingwei. "Something was wrong from the start."

With a sharp command, he urged the dragon downward. The creature responded with a powerful beat of its wings, propelling them forward with increased urgency. As they descended, the landscape below grew more distinct—a tableau of chaos and destruction that painted a grim picture of the battlefield.

The dragon roared, its voice echoing across the open sky as it dove towards the heart of the turmoil. Shenlog leaned forward, his eyes scanning the ground for signs of Jin and the source of the explosion. The wind howled around them, a wild symphony that seemed to underscore the severity of their mission.

As they approached the epicenter of the disturbance, Shenlog spotted the figures below—Jin, standing resolute amidst the chaos, and Agent 66, his new form a sinister silhouette against the backdrop of devastation.

"Prepare yourself," Shenlog called back to Jingwei, his voice loud and clear above the roar of the dragon and the chaos below. "We're going in."

The dragon's wings clapped loudly, a thunderous sound that matched the intensity of their descent. With every beat, they cut through the air, closing the distance to the ground with daunting speed.

As they neared, the dragon pulled up sharply, leveling out just above the battlefield. The ground rushed up to meet them, a blur of motion and color that soon clarified into the stark reality of war.

Shenlog dismounted swiftly, his movements practiced and precise. Jingwei followed, albeit with less grace, his body still adjusting to the abrupt change in momentum.

The dragon hovered nearby, its massive wings creating gusts that stirred the debris, adding to the chaotic atmosphere that enveloped them.

Shenlog turned to Jingwei, his voice firm. "Stay alert. This is no ordinary fight. We need to understand what we're dealing with—and quickly."

Jingwei nodded, his expression set in a grim line as he surveyed the scene before them.
