Chapter 20: Chapter 23: Zaun Map, Cracked Version
Inside the elevator, Lin Feng was worried, and Caitlyn could visibly sense it.
"Did you find something?"
Lin Feng came back to his senses, realizing there was someone beside him.
"Do you know Singed?"
Caitlyn paused for a moment, quickly searching her thoughts, and her eyes gradually cleared.
"He seems to be a... scientist from Zaun?"
Lin Feng nodded. "That's right. The Hextech gem case might be related to him."
Creating chaos for the sake of science was nothing out of the ordinary in Singed's eyes.
There were no traces of Hextech in the tavern where Diana was, and Jinx herself had no intention of getting involved in these matters. Her destruction was often aimless, so the focus of suspicion for the true culprit behind the Hextech theft quickly shifted to Singed.
Caitlyn looked puzzled and asked, "What happened to Singed?"
Lin Feng shook his head. "It's too complicated to explain right now. Let's talk when we have some conclusions in a couple of days."
Then, Lin Feng suddenly remembered something.
"Caitlyn, you absolutely must not use any force here."
Caitlyn stiffened. "But I'm a law enforcement officer..."
"It doesn't matter if you're a councilor!" Lin Feng's seriousness was unprecedented as he looked directly at Caitlyn. "This place is absolutely safe; no one can pose a threat to you. Conversely, you also cannot use force, or it will lead to very serious consequences!"
Caitlyn was taken aback; it was the first time she had heard of such a magical place. She could only nod in agreement.
Only Lin Feng knew that causing trouble in the Continental Hotel would lead to severe repercussions.
Aside from that, there were no other noteworthy matters, so Lin Feng explained some of the services available at the Continental Hotel to Caitlyn, letting her know what she could access.
There were many projects that did not require gold coins for things like laundry and free food and drinks, all basic offerings of the Continental Hotel.
Of course, Lin Feng had suspected there might be advanced weapons available, but those required a lot of gold coins, which he didn't have at the moment, so he dropped that thought.
The two returned to their respective rooms, and Caitlyn was astonished by the high-quality service and environment of the hotel.
Everything felt so 'advanced'; the modern room was even more comfortable than her own home.
However, within just a few minutes of entering, a maid outside delivered delicious food for the two.
Not wanting to accept something for nothing, Caitlyn quickly refused, but when she learned from the maid that the food was free and would be thrown away if not eaten, Caitlyn immediately changed her mind and accepted the food.
Lin Feng was already used to such things, treating it as an experience of a presidential suite.
After a simple rest and a meal, Lin Feng and Caitlyn gathered again to search for Singed's whereabouts within the hotel.
However, after two hours of searching, they returned empty-handed.
The Continental Hotel was large with many rooms, and combined with the privacy protection rules for customers, finding a person was like searching for a needle in a haystack.
But these rules only applied to the hotel staff.
Lin Feng spent an extra hour and completed his last daily task for the day, finding two passersby in the hotel, earning one gold coin each, but he still didn't gather any information about Singed.
Fatigue gradually set in, and Lin Feng understood the saying, "Haste makes waste," so he decided to call off the search.
The next day, Lin Feng slept until nearly noon, even Caitlyn, who was usually diligent, slept an extra half hour. The recent pressure had indeed been high, making it rare for them to relax like this.
After getting up, Caitlyn immediately resumed her search for Singed, even returning to Zaun to observe for a while, but still found nothing.
Upon waking, Lin Feng promptly began working on his daily tasks.
After five hours, he completed all of his daily tasks, earning 10 gold coins.
Lin Feng had other plans for these 10 gold coins.
He went to the front desk, and after communicating with the staff for a moment, he was led to a small room.
Inside the small room, a masked figure resembling a Yordle accepted Lin Feng's gold coins and retrieved several scrolls for him.
Lin Feng left the room satisfied with the scrolls, called Caitlyn, and they returned to their room to study.
As the scrolls were opened, various intricate lines appeared before them.
This was not a magical scroll or a mechanical design, but rather a map that Lin Feng had purchased for a hefty price of ten gold coins.

Although the Continental Hotel could not disclose personal information of users, they could sell maps that did not include the hotel's information.
Caitlyn, having graduated from the Piltover police academy, had some skill in reading maps, but she had never seen such a detailed one.
Not only did it include the layout of the city, but it also detailed the underground map of Zaun.
From street neighborhoods to underground sewage pipes, even indicating which could be used and which were passable, with precise size notations.
Additionally, there was a smaller map providing detailed explanations.
The most crucial point was that this map was the most up-to-date version.
Lin Feng's image once again took on a layer of mystery in Caitlyn's eyes.
How could he get his hands on such a map... who exactly is Lin Feng?
Lin Feng didn't pay much attention to Caitlyn's thoughts; instead, he was excited about the map's level of detail.
As the saying goes, "Know yourself and know your enemy, and you can fight a hundred battles without disaster."
With this map, moving through Zaun would definitely be much easier.
Lin Feng focused on the location they were about to visit, an abandoned arcade.
The map indicated that while it was abandoned, the population density was still not low.
This made sense; it was Jinx's territory, so a few people being around was normal.
There were three routes leading to the arcade.
One was a main road, and two were small alleys, along with an underground pipe that could lead directly to the arcade's basement.
Lin Feng took a quick glance and established a basic plan.
He would first take the main road and assess the situation.
If all went well, they could enter the arcade directly from the main road.
If not, they would enter through the side roads.
The underground passage would be the last option for wrapping up or retreating; it might be a route even Jinx herself didn't know about.
Listening to Lin Feng's explanation, Caitlyn was secretly alarmed.
Whether it was his observational skills, decision-making in the moment, tactical arrangements, or the necessary courage and boldness, Lin Feng exhibited them all, even surpassing the excellent officers she had seen at the academy. She couldn't fathom that Lin Feng was a scientist.
Feeling inferior, Caitlyn resolved to put in extra effort tomorrow, determined not to tarnish the title of law enforcement officer.
With the tactical arrangements complete, Lin Feng and Caitlyn returned to their respective rooms to prepare for their next move.
