The next morning, Kiana slowly awoke atop a tree, gazing at the half-risen sun on the horizon. The golden half-circle combined with its reflection in the sea, forming a perfect circle.

"A new day again... which means the Affection System has refreshed too?" Kiana murmured to herself. The Affection System allows about a thousand points daily, though Kiana had almost forgotten the exact number. Yesterday, after maxing it out, Mei's Crimson Armor had reached two hearts of affection. Kiana had even received a reward of 10,000 coins from the achievement quest. Now, she aimed to reach three hearts, but the required affection points had doubled to over 2,000.

Switching to the Crimson Armor, Kiana carefully took the phone from her chest, as she had something to do that Aichan shouldn't see.

Setting the phone down and covering it with a large leaf, Kiana's face blushed slightly.

"It's still kind of embarrassing," she muttered.

"I'm doing this for the quest, just for the quest. Yes, repeating it twice makes it more believable."

Mumbling as if to convince herself, Kiana carefully placed her hands over her chest, giving a gentle squeeze. Despite having mentally prepared herself, the sensitive touch made her gasp softly, filling her with a sense of guilty pleasure.

"Captain, what… are you doing?"

Out of nowhere, Aichan's slightly judgmental voice came from behind her.

"Huh? Ah, uh... You know, being a girl is kind of a pain, right? Having a big chest makes my shoulders ache," Kiana stammered, quickly switching to massaging her shoulders, thankful that Aichan hadn't seen her actions directly.

"Is that so?"

Aichan floated the phone up to Kiana's front, eyeing her skeptically as if doubting her excuse.

"O-of course! What else would I be doing?" Kiana avoided Aichan's gaze, trying to hide her guilt.

"Alright then, just so you know, Captain, the mission system has refreshed, and you can do daily quests now."

"Oh, got it." Kiana nodded, wiping nonexistent sweat from her brow, relieved she had dodged that bullet. The last thing she wanted was for Aichan to discover her little ritual.

"Time for breakfast, then."

Kiana retrieved the deer meat she had hung from a nearby tree using soft branches. Though it had cooled down, she wasn't too picky—so long as it was edible, she'd eat it.

After quickly finishing her meal, Kiana pulled out her phone to check today's quests.

Her Commander level had reached Level 5, thanks to yesterday's efforts in taking down seven or eight deer.

Kiana realized that leveling up made completing achievement quests easier, so she had focused on small, isolated red-dot monsters for experience, rather than tough opponents like boars. A higher level would make those four-hundred-hit combo quests a breeze. After all, if she could somehow encounter Kaido, one of the Four Emperors, known as the "strongest creature," he could probably withstand four hundred hits with ease. Then again, with her current strength, Kiana wasn't sure she'd survive a single blow from him.

Upon reaching Commander Level 5, her Crimson Armor had also leveled up to 5, as had her White Comet Armor after upgrading it with basic chips she had found.

Kiana couldn't stand the thought of any one Valkyrie armor lagging behind others, so she kept them all leveled equally, since each anime girl was precious to her. They all held a special place in her heart, after all!

With Level 5 came new skills. For the Crimson Armor, she had learned Instant Slash, an evasive skill used with dodging, which greatly boosted its agility. As for the White Comet Armor, she'd put off learning anything for now, focusing instead on perfecting her infinite dodge technique.

Upgrading her weapons had drained her funds, so coins were tight.

Her Pulse Katana had reached Level 25, maxing out at three stars. To strengthen it further, she'd need to evolve it to a four-star weapon before continuing to Level 30. Weapon evolution required materials, and each advancement allowed her to raise the weapon's max level by five.

Looking at her phone's Pulse Katana icon, Kiana noticed three brightly lit stars, with a fourth dim one beside them. She'd need to evolve it twice more to reach four stars, where it could then be leveled up to thirty-five, the maximum for four-star gear.

Her weapon had hit a bottleneck. The next upgrade required specific materials, and once she gathered them, she could evolve the Pulse Katana.

A small drawback, however, was that after each evolution, the weapon's level would decrease by one, requiring a re-upgrade. The coins and materials previously used couldn't be refunded, a system Kiana found rather annoying.

"I wonder if I can get the materials I need today," Kiana whispered, hoping for a lucky drop as she opened her quest menu.

Quest 1: Eliminate three enemies using Mei Armor. Reward: 3,000 coins and 20 Valkyrie Battle Armor points.

Quest 2: Collect coins once from the Home System. Reward: 1,000 coins and 10 Mission points.

"Two quests today? Well, that's good enough."

Kiana pocketed her phone, wedging it securely between her chest, then swept her hair back with her left hand, exuding a hint of allure.

"The Big Three—it looks like today I'll be completing the team."
