Chapter 6: Chapter 4

''My head spins

I'm pressed against the wall

Just watching your every move

You're way too cool

And you're coming this way.''

-5 Seconds of Summer-

#Luke's POV

"Dude, you know me so well! It's been ages since we last came here." Alex chirps excitedly. The guy never stops talking, though I've been tuning him out on the drive here successfully.

Looking out of the window, I see that we've arrived.

The Lava, a private club that only people with big money come to, is filled with glamour and fame. The renown club with its tight security, claimed that no rats can even enter, is the only thing I like about this place. I don't give a shit about anything else; I just need a place away from the paparazzi and those crazy girls that called themselves our fans.

I used to like the attention, but not anymore. Not that I hate it; more so annoyed and irritated. I mean, I appreciate the love, but can you not be so pathetic? Grabbing someone and kiss-force them is never a cool thing to do. It's crazy how some people think that they are entitled to do whatever they want, just because they bought our album and our ticket concert. You are buying our music, not our body.

I sound like a depressed teenage nursing a heartbreak. Shit. I need to cut the crap in my head.

"Yeah, cool." I mumble tiredly, opening the door, and step out.

"Did you book a private room here? Do they still have our special room? We haven't come for months."

We used to have a room reserved in our name where we could come here anytime we wanted. With our fame and big base of fans, it's really hard to find a place that's private enough to just chill and enjoy ourselves without the fear of waking up with our drunkenness plastered on the morning news. Our option is very limited.

"Jack told me he reserved a room here already." I answer while walking towards the door.

"What? Jack's here too?!" He frets loudly. Thank God I walk in front of him. I don't need to get my ear blown off for this shit.

"They're all here already? Since when?" He asks again when I didn't answer him the first time.

I'm starting to lose my cool. Dude, what is your problem now?

"Yeah, it's better to stick together. We don't need more buzz to pump up our long list of scandals. Do you want to make a headline tomorrow?" I toss back stiffly. He better listen to me, because I mean every word.

He rolls his eyes and shrugs nonchalantly, but his expression turns restless. Well, at least he stopped bothering me about it. Finally some peace.

Alex seems to understand that this is for the best. Following me closely, we walk inside together. I can get in easily without the security checking my ID; that's just how famous we are.

We roll in wherever we want to. No questions asked. People come to ask what we want and serve it on a silver plate. This, I say, is one of the coolest things about being famous. Everything is ready and handled smoothly. One look, one smile, and it's all done. This face is one hot, lucky bastard, I tell you.

We walk in silence through a bright carpeted hallway, with each wall decorated by a painting that screams money. There're sofas and a few big plotted plants on each side of it, seated on the far left corner before we reach the double door glass tinted in black. The last door before we stepped inside the main area of this place.

As we walk through the door, the music greets me with fervor. The smells of alcohol and money stained with a bit of sweat fill the air. The lighting is dim, with a few lights on each corner and some scattered on the wall. The only slightly brighter places here are the dance floor in the middle and the bar counter on the right. The place isn't packed like I hope, even though it's Friday night. Only a few people are dancing in the middle; most are seated at their own tables.

I looked around for a few seconds to see if anyone recognized us since we opened the door, but found none. I sigh with relief and start to walk to the left to head to our private room on the second floor, not forgetting to drag Alex with me. I don't want to leave the fucker alone, or he'll cause a scene within minutes. Stay away from trouble is my motto of the night.

"Geez, I can see fine asswipe; there's no need to drag me like a ragdoll."

"I know asshat. What I see that you don't see is that you'll get your little annoying face punched if you don't follow me right now." He's being difficult, and I'm not going to have it right now.

"Oh wow. I'm scared." He says mockingly but is following me from behind. Right move, dude.

I see them before I arrive at their table. Jack with his red hair and Sammy with his platinum hair can be seen easily from where I stand. The private room here is not exactly private, with the only thing that separates this room from the outside being just a 2-meter-high red-tinted glass wall and a dark silk curtain on each side. There's no door, and right now, the curtain is half drawn, giving the illusion that it's secluded from the world.

I can see a few other heads inside, but I don't know who since they sit with their backs on me. If we judge from the long hair, it most definitely is a girl. Of course. How can I forget this? They are like bees that chase after honey on a flower, but instead of a sweet and fragrant one, it's sour and bitter. My boys and I don't seem to be on the same page tonight.

"Oh, look, there they are." Alex chimes happily, probably preparing some lame pickup line to impress the girls. I can feel the dread on how tonight's hangout going to plays.

I put on a mask and start playing the Luke everyone wants to see.

"LadiesI throw my charming smile to the girls and send a curt nod to my boys. I'm trying to be polite as always, even when I grumble angrily inside. I need to keep up the image. After all, it's about appearances in this industry, right?

"Hey man." Jack nods back to me and signals me to sit beside him. And I'm seriously contemplating my life choices right now. Because sometimes, where you sit can determine what your fate's will is.

There is a big desk in the middle covered with a silvery mirror, surrounded by 4 sofas and 2 small coffee tables. There're two long sofas that can accommodate 4-5 people; one smaller sofa for 2-3 people; and a 1-person sofa. Jack and Sammy already occupied the two bigger sofas, while Dylan's on the smaller one.

Alex walks and sits on the sofas beside Samm while Dylan's smirking my way. I glanced quickly at the two blonde girls on Jack's sides and suddenly felt a chill. The first girl's eagerly shows her cleavage with next-to-none covers while the other one smiles widely at me; it gives me creep.

No, thanks. I choose the obvious answer: the one-person sofa is the safest option.

"Hey man. You came." Sammy greets me when I'm getting comfortable in my seat. He's hugging a redhead that looks so into him; she didn't even turn her head my way. Well, good for him.

"Yes. Let's just vibe." I turn to Alex fiddling with the order tab and ask him to order for me too. He nods eagerly.

I see from my peripheral vision that the second blond—let's just call her that since I don't know her name yet—slids closer to me and is still eagerly showing her teeth at me. She looks at me from head to toe with her big eyes, and I just sigh inwardly, pretending that I didn't just feel her eyeing me like I'm some fresh meat. I wonder if her jaws would be fine after tonight, what with how wide she smiles at me. She then tells me her name is Veronica, and I just smile back at her.

"Nice to meet you, Veronica." My answer seems to activate her as she starts sending winning smiles to her friends, who know what it is for. Girls.

At least this Veronica doesn't try to stuff my face with her cleavage. I'm not a big fan of big tits. I'm not hating, but I just have my own preference. Past experiences truly speak volumes in my life choices now.

Veronica starts to ask me something, but I tune her out, with the excuse of replying to a message from my manager. I guess I have an idea of how this will turn out. If I give her the slightest attention, she will start to get excited over the wrong idea in their mind and then tell the whole world that I date her when in fact I was just talking and trying to be polite.

I look around instead of her, and then I see Jack smirk at me while Dylan's covers his mouth with his hand; he must definitely be laughing in his head. The boys know I don't like to mingle with people as much—well, not as much as I'm used to. They enjoy seeing me suffer too much; I want to throw some punch.

I look over to Samm and realize Veronica is still talking my ears off with god knows what. I groan inwardly. Can she just stop?

I know I sound like an asshole right now, but still, an asshole needs a break too. I was trying to come up with some ideas to excuse myself from here when I saw Alex come back with a couple of girls coming to our table. When did he go out?

Great, another two coming before I even can break free from this one. This is a sucky ball. Damn Alex from forcing me to come over here.

I take another deep breath. This will be a long, exhausting night.
