Chapter 63: Chapter 62: Heaven-Sent Justice

Watching the gleaming light in the sky, Cohen breathed a sigh of relief. The plan was complete.

Now, it was just a matter of waiting for the harvest.

He glanced back at the large ammo box on his back—there was still some left.

"Since I'm already here, I might as well use it all."

Ratatatata...

...

The two missiles fired from the armory were quickly detected by the radar at the Bagram Air Base.

Staring at the rapidly approaching tracks on the radar, the soldiers' worldview shattered once again.

The demon using machine guns was already unbelievable, but now it could launch missiles?

Could it get any more overpowered?

Given the short distance between the armory and Bagram Base, they had less than two minutes to react. Long-range interception was almost impossible.

Their only hope was in close-range missile interceptors and the "Phalanx" defense systems.

At that moment, the two Jericho missiles were flying above the clouds.

Under the moonlight, their silver-white bodies gleamed, emblazoned with the words "Stark Industries."

The missiles even passed by the three fighter jets en route, skimming by a few meters apart as they sped past each other.

They were nearing their destination.

The computer systems adjusted their altitude and flight posture.

Below them lay Bagram Air Base, brightly lit and echoing with blaring alarms.

The missiles dove, accelerating continuously as they approached twice the speed of sound.

Several flashes of light streaked up from the base—interceptor missiles launched, aiming to collide with the incoming threat.

But Stark's Jericho missiles were a masterful creation. With a graceful tail flick, they dodged the interceptors.

Even though the interceptors exploded, showering the sky with debris, none of it hit the missiles.

Closer, even closer.

Suddenly, the base's numerous Phalanx systems opened fire. A barrage of bullets poured out like torrential rain—impossible for even a fly to escape.

Yet just as the Phalanx systems engaged, the Jericho missiles' outer shells peeled away.

In a dazzling display, the warheads scattered, like a flower blooming in the sky.

The Phalanx systems managed to take out a small portion, but the rest broke through the defenses.

In the war room, everyone froze, their bodies chilled to the core as they watched.

General Glenn sighed. So it was Jericho missiles. It seemed there was no escaping tonight.

Outside the windows, a massive C-130 transport plane was taxiing on the runway. In just a few more seconds, it would have been airborne with its deadly GBU-43 bombs.

But it was too late—just a few seconds too late.

The sky filled with glimmering fragments, like the embers of a brilliant firework display.

Glenn looked around at everyone one last time and said, "Gentlemen, it has been an honor fighting alongside you..."

BOOM!

A massive, unprecedented explosion engulfed the entire Bagram Air Base.

...

People later said that on that night, divine retribution struck Afghanistan—

Every invader trembled, and every criminal was turned to ash.

The next morning, when reinforcements from other bases arrived, they found nothing but scorched earth.

It was as if God had extinguished His cigar here, leaving behind a charred circle several hundred meters wide.

That was, of course, the work of the GBU-43 bombs.

In the end, a violent chain reaction detonated those bombs, leaving no survivors at Bagram Air Base.

The morning breeze was cool as Cohen sat on a mountaintop, gazing at the devastated armory base in the distance.

Last night, the three fighter jets didn't even have time to drop their bombs.

By the time they reached the armory, all contact with Bagram had been lost. All they saw was the enormous, dazzling explosion behind them.

They had no idea what had happened.

Without orders from their superiors, they couldn't decide whether to bomb the armory, where comrades might still be alive.

After circling the base twice, they had no choice but to return, only to find nothing but a burning ruin.

Their home was gone.

After a brief discussion, the pilots decided to fly to another base.

Meanwhile, the armory, abandoned by the fighter jets, withstood a few more minutes of slaughter and fire before the resistance ceased.

As the sun rose, Cohen took stock of his gains from the previous night.

The biggest achievements were two massive kill streaks. The first came from the Jericho missiles, which, after fragmenting, netted him a 200-kill streak.

The second came from the GBU-43 explosion, which brought him a 300-kill streak.

In addition to that, there were several dozen reward packages of varying levels.

Among them, the most valuable were a three-star golden package and a four-star platinum package.

He couldn't help but feel a pang of regret. It was a shame the platinum package didn't reach five stars! The odds of getting something great were significantly reduced.

But it was just a lower probability, not a guarantee of getting nothing good.

Cohen had a habit of saving the best for last, so he eagerly opened all the packages except the platinum one.

After a flurry of system notifications, a long list of rewards appeared.

In total, he gained 595 free attribute points and four new skills: Archery Mastery, Swordsmanship Mastery, Hacking Mastery, and... Postpartum Care for Sows!

His heart remained unmoved. Systems were prone to acting up; it was normal. Not acting up would be unusual.

Fortunately, the three-star golden package granted him a useful skill: Flight!

His eyes lit up in excitement! "Finally, the flightless chickens won't be able to keep up with me anymore."

However, after careful study, he realized that his Flight skill only allowed him to reach a maximum speed of 150 km/h.

"Are you kidding me? That's barely better than a chicken on the ground!"

Three-star packages, never reliable.

Although it could still be used for showing off, it wasn't practical for travel. A good car would be more efficient!

Nevertheless, it would now compete with Dragon Aura for his next skill upgrade card.

Then came the distribution of attribute points.

Considering that he might not have such a large one-time gain in attribute points for a while, he decided to prioritize increasing his combat strength.

As for defense, since he had acquired a Vibranium soft armor and planned to keep it on unless absolutely necessary, his defense was already formidable. He only added a symbolic 10 points to bring his total to 300.

His mental attributes also received a minor increase, bringing them to 280, as his Soul Defense made further improvement less urgent.

His physical endurance, originally at 203 points, jumped to 300 after a generous allocation.

All remaining points went into strength and speed, bringing his strength to 540 and speed to 419.

With such a significant increase in speed and strength, his combat power had nearly doubled compared to before.

At his current speed, he could easily turn into a blur, much like the speed demon he once was. No ordinary human eye would be able to keep up with his movements.

Finally, there was the platinum package.

Cohen stood up, facing east toward the rising sun, and clasped his hands together, "May the Jade Emperor, Queen Mother, Buddha, and the Ten Yama Kings bless me!"

He opened the package.

[Congratulations! You have received the title: Hammer God.]

Immediately, his system status screen updated.

[Name: Cohen Wang, AKA: Hammer God.]

"What the heck is this?"
