Chapter 137: C110(1)

"The harvest has been quite good. It took more than two months, but it's okay."

Kain had been gone for quite some time, and his influence was growing larger every day. Now, he had biological research centers, biopharmaceutical companies, Umbrella military security firms, and newly registered energy companies under his belt.

In the future, he could use a Shadow Clone to remain in the Marvel world. If he avoided fighting, he could seal more Chakra with the sealing technique, allowing him to persist for over a month.

Then there was the basilisk. After unsealing the frozen creature, Kain addressed it: "You'll live in the sea near here from now on. I will provide food regularly. Remember, keep your existence hidden from others."

During the second half of his time at Hogwarts, Kain also used the Sage Chakra on the basilisk.

After half a year of gestation, the bond between them grew stronger, allowing Kain to perceive the basilisk's thoughts. Now, he essentially controlled its life and death.

After adapting to the Chakra, the basilisk grew back into its tens-of-meters-long form. Kain was unsure of its current growth limit, but fortunately, the sea offered a vast hiding place.

What he had gained most from this endeavor were new spells, such as the flying spell, Imperius Curse, and transfiguration.

These spells allowed him to surpass regular people. As long as he was cautious around Kamar-Taj and other extraordinary forces, Kain could safely continue developing for another ten years.

In ten years, Kain would undoubtedly be able to create an extremely powerful army through biotechnology and mechanical technology.

He might even be able to elevate Earth's civilization to become the fourth-largest empire in the universe. That was Kain's ambition, though it wasn't entirely out of reach.

However, he still needed to develop slowly. After all, his company hadn't yet secured a solid foothold in the United States.

After delegating the accumulated matters to a Shadow Clone, Kain picked up his phone, dialed, and said, "Betty, are you busy?"

"Honestly, I really don't understand your development direction. In my opinion, you should at least wait until you've established your biopharmaceutical company before pursuing clean energy. Do you have any idea how many people will oppose you if you push for clean energy now?"

Betty Ross had been updating Kain on his recent developments since she got in the car. There was a hint of resentment in her voice. After all, Kain had disappeared for so long, and Betty had been left to manage a quarter of his industry and capital.

If she made even a small mistake, Kain's business could be in serious danger. The most important thing for Kain right now was the Extremis virus project he was collaborating on with the military, which Betty also controlled.

Despite all this, Betty found it hard to feel upset. She didn't need money, she didn't hate Kain that much, and she certainly didn't want to see others bring him down. But Betty often found herself feeling as though she were losing her mind.

Even if she didn't want to develop clean energy, it was because she was worried that Kain would be targeted by traditional resource tycoons. After all, even her father couldn't do anything to those people, and they would truly dare to start a local war over energy issues.

When Kain was away for two months, Betty didn't forget him; in fact, she missed him more and more. Even now, in the car, Betty Ross began to nervously rub her legs, though she tried to distract herself by looking through documents.

Fortunately, she had switched to a Lincoln with a sealed compartment.

"Don't worry, Betty. It will take at least two years for Vanko and the others to really develop. By then, even if someone has malicious intentions, I can handle it."

Kain reassured her. If you were an ordinary person with no superpowers, you would have to be cautious around those resource tycoons, but he wasn't just anyone.

Within two years, Vanko and his son wouldn't be publicizing the Ark reactor project. Anton Vanko had been deported by the United States and was the most aware of the consequences of rushing things. His health was improving slowly, and now he could afford to wait.

"Let's set that aside for now. How's the Extremis Virus going?"

Kain noticed Betty was still fidgeting with her legs and had been looking at him, so he pulled her closer, wrapping an arm around her waist, and let her sit on his lap. "Report to me like this; I want to hear everything clearly."

"The Extremis virus is progressing well, and the first batch has been... accepted."

Betty said a few words before angrily pulling Kain's hand away, making it difficult for her to report. But feeling the warmth of his body made her swallow nervously, and she finally sped up her report.

Betty Ross had a special channel to inquire about the super soldier squad from the military. Kain's side had given a success rate of about 70%, but the military's success rate was only 50%. Many failures had little to do with the serum itself but rather the emotions of the user.

This was the conclusion drawn by the military's researchers. The serum of the Extremis virus was highly sensitive to emotions. If the user was too excited or frightened, it would trigger a rise in heart rate, causing the Extremis virus to heat up rapidly and possibly explode.

However, successful subjects had gained super strength, able to crush a 4mm steel plate with ease, along with enhanced speed, reaction times, and recovery abilities, all at the level of super soldiers.

Compared to Steve Rogers' data, they were only slightly weaker, but their resilience was several times stronger.

"Kain, my father... plans to entrust several of the serums left by Dr. Erskine... to your biological research center. If you can perfect them, he will continue to cooperate with you to develop the serums together. We're almost there."

After Betty finished speaking, she quickly removed Kain's mischievous hand, barely resisting the urge to give in. She hurriedly got up, adjusted her clothes and makeup, and stepped away from Kain.

"Of course, I agree with this matter. Make an appointment with General Ross for me another day."

After getting out of the car, Kain said to Betty.
