The introductions were made, and soon the family gathered around, listening as Cyrus spoke of Aleena's vision and the prophecy that named Victor as one of the chosen defenders.

Mirabel gasped in surprise, ''So you are the divine, high priestess, god gracious, it is an honour to have you at our humble abode,'' to which Aleena smiled softly nodding her head.

Victor's sisters, two lively young women, exchanged wide-eyed glances as their youngest brother's fate unfurled before them. The little girl, who had been watching shyly, tugged at Victor's sleeve. "Does that mean you'll be a hero, too?" she asked, her voice a mix of awe and concern.
