My plan worked. In fact, I had not expected the success rate to be as high as this, but here I was.

The smugness I was feeling as I stared down at the unconscious boy was unlike one I had never felt before. 

Finally, this would bring about an end to the menace of Edwina sticking to my man like a leech.

This idea hadn't always been on my list, no. But when I realised that I had to do something drastic for Edwina to leave Kieran alone for good, it started to nag me at the back of my mind. 

And even though people might think me cruel for using a small boy of five as an hostage to get his mother to back off from the love of my life, I didn't give a shit.

 I was just a girl who was willing to do anything to get her man back.

Kidnapping the boy from school had been easy. All I had to do was walk in there, put on an act about his mother being in an accident and they let me take him.
