Chapter 7: A Way of Healing

I laid on the smooth silky sheets feeling a comfort I had longed for in my previous life. I couldn't help but admire the room I had been transmigrated too, the unique design of the furniture and the luxurious bed. It was a type of comfort I hadn't known in my last life.

I wasn't necessarily poor, I had to save for things just as any other person but I felt I had to do it with most things. It wasn't a bad life but it's the little things that made it worth living, but even this room paled in comparison.

"At least I didn't get transmigrated to some hellscape. Well, some place like Dune would be pretty cool."

I sat up and picked my journal from the corner of the circular bed. I began to look at the symbol and name. The scribblings looked familiar, not the symbol and the word but more what they were. It bothered me I couldn't think of what it was reminding me of. What am I trying to recall?

I rubbed the corner of the paper before it came to me.

...

The lecture hall was filled with students of all walks of life. Most were elves but their were humans and Halflings. They wrote notes and groups talked to each other in whispers. I sat in the middle, a spot open to my left and right gazing down at the lit lecture stage. In the center stood a grey haired well dressed man, who's appearance was similar to a Teddy Roosevelt. He wore gold rimmed glasses and held the coat of his brown coat as he went over the Ways of Healing.

"As we discussed, there are 6 types of healing. All done with different actions, these are each broken into different sub categories of healing. We will stick to the main 3 types of healing, we begin with the hands. These are the fastest in a pinch, many of you have probably already begun to practice healing this way." He paused and took out his pipe from one of his coat pockets. "The hands are useful since the palms have the unique property of letting magical energy flow outward, not requiring physical touch to heal. Although healing works best the closer you are to a target."

"Next is the wand, after your first semester you will be given one, as you all know." A few heads perked up and smiles washed quiet a bit of the room. "Wands are much like the magicless guns in that they are fast and reliable. But unlike the rare weapon, the wand can be seen in daily life outside of even the elven colony we find ourselves in today. Although it is easy to obtain a wand which I'm sure a lot of you already have, you will be given the newest and most up to date wands currently made. These will be your sword, shield, broom, messenger, gun, and most importantly your first aid kit."

The class rose in noise level as the students excitedly dreamed of the wands yet to be in there hands. Only a few months away and they will have access to all the magic currently possible. One simple stroll to a magic shop, or a book store to pick up the incantations hand book and the magical world is theirs.

"Lastly, the most potent method of healing someone is of course, the mouth method. You may have been a child running around in your yard when you fell and cut your knee. I bet quite a few of you ran to your mother or father and they healed you. Does anyone know what they did or may have done."

The class was silent. A pin could be heard if one were to drop.

I raised my hand just above my head.

"Yes, you in the middle."

I paused before saying, "They kissed it?"

"Correct! Yes strangely enough the mouth has a healing property which can be demonstrated by in this case a kiss. Simply put the mouth is the easiest way to heal an injury if your wand breaks. Also, it is stronger than using your palms. Now, when you go out on your adventures in the world or in the forest I don't recommend this as your first option since many may get the wrong idea. But many can and have been saved in dire situations with this method."

A few laughs came from the hall.

The professor walked to his desk off to the side where he looked at his notes. He stood there for a few seconds seeing what was next to speak about, while doing so he ran his finger on the corner of the page.

...

When I came back to the present I noticed I was rubbing the page still.

"Ow!" I pulled my hand back and a paper cut appeared at my finger. I decided to put it in my mouth. A sharp pain went through me, but after a second the saliva in my mouth coating my finger felt nice. I took the finger from my mouth and saw the paper cut was completely healed.

"Nice" I said to myself.

The steam from the shower was beginning to enter into my room, it made me realize just how sweaty I was. I had been so focused on Vaeril that I didn't even think about myself.

I decided to check on Vaeril, walking to the bathroom door I did a light knock. No response. I knocked again. No response. I knocked a third time loudly. No Response.

Before I panicked I cracked the door open a smidge. "Vaeril? You okay?" I didn't hear anything but running water so when I looked inside I was confronted with a completely nude Vaeril laying on the ground of the standing shower. "Vaeril!" I ran to him, his body being hit by the water.

I tapped his face and he moaned slightly. "Vaeril speak to me." All he could do was moan again. I stepped back to assess if anything was wrong with him physically. I noticed on his muscular wet body various slashes across him. I noticed 4, one on the left of his waist, one on his right thigh, another on his chest and the final one a slight cut on the lip. Besides the cuts, his body was bruised all over. Looks like he fought more than he could take on earlier. He must have been running on pure adrenaline.

I turned off the water and squatted before him tapping his face to wake up. This time his moan was much weaker. Panic was beginning to set in.

"What do I do?!" I began to bite my nails.

"Wait..." I looked at my finger tips, the saliva's reflection winked at me.

...

Rophalin stepped off the cart. Her sandals hitting the dirt path that lead to the town. Stretching her back she raised her arms above her head, causing her body to shape like a bow. In a nearby bush sat a man wielding a knife. He was out of sight and silent. He noticed the muscular woman relax and begin to walk toward the town.

Looking left to the carriage heading back to the University he waited till it got farther out before rising from the bush.

He stepped on to the dirt road for a second before darting into the shadows of nearby trees when Rophalin turned around. He lightly tossed the knife up and down observing her from the shadows.

He thought to himself, "She seems like a strong one, but the loot in the bag must be worth it."

After following her for a few minutes they reached the gate where they opened for her without a seconds hesitation.

He walked through the forest that surrounded the village, he had snuck in many times before. Mainly at night but he sky was already growing darker. Purple filled the sky as his head bent below and opening he carved some weeks back.

After a few minutes of searching he found the muscular blonde selling her loot. She set down various horns and goblin parts, before setting a few wands before the round trader.

"Hmmm, good finds today. Can't do much with the wands, I don't deal in the black market. The rest I can give you probably..." He thought a moment shifting through the items. After saying an amount the blonde woman slammed on the table demanding higher.

"She seems like a handful, but that price is too good to pass up. I'll wait till she falls asleep to swipe the money from her."

Eventually hands were shook and the trader and Rophalin parted ways. She smiled as she entered a busy tavern with a sign hanging above the door with the words Tarvel written on them.

Hours passed as he sat by the entrance watching Rophalin chug glass after glass of alcohol. The white foam falling down her chin and spilling on her breasts.

A muscular and hairy middle aged Man walked over. His pointy ears were red and his face even more vibrant than his ears.

"Rophalin, How... How about - hch! We head to My Place..."

"So I can please your wife while you watch." She said in a calm tone.

A few of the man's friends laughed at the drunk elf as he cried out "Hey! I was just being FriendlY!"

A few men grabbed him and brought him to the booth he was sitting at.

Another hour passed and she began to look lonely. She stepped outside looking at the dark sky, admiring the stars.

She walked back to a comfy house on the side of town. She was clearly drunk as she swayed back and forth walking the street. No one was out besides Rophalin and the man. He waited as she fumbled with her key to get inside.

Once she entered she began to disrobe. Throwing her top off, exposing her breasts to the living room she walked through. As she climbed the stairs her panties fell and her axe as well. She walked into her bedroom and flopped face first on to the mattress and pillows.

The man climbed a tree by her bedroom window. He was practically dancing as he climbed through the window and heard the snoring of the barbarian.

He noticed in the surprisingly cute house the bag of money in the doorway.

He moved closer to it. His knife in hand in case anyone else was home.

A quick movement occurred simultaneously with the flash of a blade.
