Chapter 33: Threads of Destiny

The morning sun had just started to rise over the forest, casting a soft golden glow between trees. David, Ivane, and Giorgi packed up camp—the embers of last night's fire long since burned to cold, leaving only the faintest whisper of warmth in the cool morning air. It was silent, but for the infrequent chirp of a bird and the rustling of leaves in the gentle breeze. David drew in a deep breath as the serenity of the forest enveloped him, though he knew it would not last.

Giorgi slung his pack over his shoulder and immediately broke the silence with a groan. "If I never have to sleep on leaves and twigs again, it'll be too soon."

Ivane raised an eyebrow, her smile quirk betraying her. "You're the one who insisted on sleeping closer to the fire. Next time, try making a proper bed of leaves instead of just flopping down like a bear."

David snickered, adjusting his pack. "She does have a point, Giorgi. Your sleeping habits might just scare the wildlife.
