Su Xiangrou wasn't about to waste this opportunity. She quickly issued a second command: "Tri Attack!"
At such close range, Grovyle had no way to dodge! If the Tri Attack landed, the battle would likely be over. Despite that, a strange feeling of regret flickered through Su Xiangrou.
Suddenly, something unexpected happened—Lu Cheng seemed to have anticipated her move and issued his own command at nearly the same time: "Unburden, Agility!"
After Grovyle evolved, the Competitive Vest had automatically transformed into a belt to better suit its body. Grovyle tore off the belt in one swift motion. With its slim, powerful legs propelling it off the ground, Grovyle vanished from sight with blinding speed, already reappearing behind Porygon. The explosive energy of the Tri Attack missed completely!
"Wow, look at that speed!" the announcer shouted. "Lu Cheng's Grovyle used Agility to dodge the attack and strike Porygon with another Fury Cutter!"
That made two hits now. Su Xiangrou quietly calculated in her mind. Given Porygon's defenses, it could only take up to four hits from Fury Cutter at most. That meant she had two more chances.
Lifting her head, Su Xiangrou's eyes were filled with determination. If she could land a successful Tri Attack, trading damage for damage might be an acceptable strategy!
"Porygon, use Magnet Rise!"
This was a move Su Xiangrou hadn't used in any of her previous matches. Porygon's body shifted into the shape of a turret, its currents sparking again. To everyone's surprise, Porygon lifted off the ground, floating in midair under the stunned gazes of the crowd!
"This is the Electric-type move 'Magnet Rise,' allowing the Pokémon to evade ground-based attacks!" the commentator quickly explained.
"Even with such high-speed movement, you can't use Agility again, can you?" Su Xiangrou called out to Lu Cheng, taking advantage of the brief stalemate.
"I don't know. You can try and see," Lu Cheng responded with a smile.
Su Xiangrou frowned, feeling a slight unease. No, with Grovyle's special ability boost, it shouldn't be possible to use Agility again. Besides, the data showed that Thunder Wave had landed successfully, and paralysis had taken effect. The data doesn't lie!
Su Xiangrou shouted, "Porygon, use Psybeam!"
Lu Cheng yelled at the same time, "Charge forward with Fury Cutter!"
Purple-pink energy beams formed a dizzying Psybeam, but Grovyle blocked it with the blade of its Leaf Blade. Despite taking on the Psybeam head-on, Grovyle leaped into the air, soaring with incredible height, unstoppable as it flew toward Porygon!
"Fury Cutter!" The third hit of Fury Cutter!
"Too reckless!" Su Xiangrou suddenly shouted. "The third Fury Cutter won't be enough to defeat Porygon!"
"Use Tri Attack on Grovyle!" In midair, Grovyle had no chance to dodge, and that was exactly the plan. Porygon's turret-like form was adjusting for the hit—
The first hit, electricity! Violent thunder struck Grovyle, but it barely wavered in its flight.
The second hit, ice! The chilling frost visibly formed on Grovyle's face, but its eyes remained fierce and determined, surging forward toward Porygon.
The third hit, fire! However, before the deadly flames could launch, Grovyle's Fury Cutter struck Porygon first. The third hit of Fury Cutter connected!
In Su Xiangrou's stunned gaze, Porygon's Tri Attack was interrupted, and it fell from the air like a kite with its string cut. Grovyle landed gracefully, wiping the frost from its face, its expression cold and unwavering.
"You're too cool!" Cheers erupted from the crowd, as Lu Cheng's fan group quickly transformed into Grovyle fans, shouting and cheering loudly.
"Grovyle!"
"The winner is Lu Cheng!" The referee waved the flag.
Su Xiangrou looked utterly perplexed, but she quietly recalled Porygon. Before leaving the stage, Su Xiangrou gave Lu Cheng a long, deep look. The look sent shivers down Lu Cheng's spine.
Uh oh, am I going to receive something creepy in the mail? Like a cursed doll or fingernails?
Ding—Task 'Data Analysis' completed.

On the other end of the line, Su Xiangrou pulled out a thick notebook and seriously asked, "I wanted to ask, how was Grovyle able to defeat Porygon with just three uses of Fury Cutter? I've calculated it multiple times, and no matter what, the result should require four hits!"
Her voice was filled with deep confusion. How was Lu Cheng supposed to explain this? Should he tell her that he has the "Combo" trait, which increases Fury Cutter's damage by an additional 10%? But if you take away the system bonus, it would indeed take four strikes for Grovyle to bring down Porygon. Su Xiangrou's calculation ability was astounding!
Lu Cheng chuckled awkwardly and said, "Well, my Grovyle has a deep understanding of moves like Fury Cutter, so maybe that's why it increased the move's power."
"Is that so?" Su Xiangrou fell silent for a moment. "So understanding of one move can affect another?"
"Yeah!" Lu Cheng replied confidently.
There was another pause before Su Xiangrou took a deep breath and said, "I didn't think about that before. I'll work harder on researching this aspect. Thanks, Lu Cheng!"
After hanging up, Lu Cheng wiped the sweat off his brow. Phew, managed to bluff my way through that, he thought.
Suddenly, he remembered that the system had rewarded him with "Upgrade Data," the item required for Porygon's evolution. He didn't really have much use for it himself. Thinking aloud, Lu Cheng mumbled, "Maybe I should sell it to her if I get the chance..."
