The blazing sunshine pressed down with furious, murderous intensity, under the vast expanse of the desert. The sands were scorching hot beneath him, and even within the protective embrace of his worn brown boots, Dusken could feel the relentless desert heat seeping through, threatening to burn his defenseless feet.
Shimmering beads of heavy sweat rolled down his pale-skinned face, portraying the ferociousness of the sun above.
'It had just been two minutes, damn it.'
Dusken grimaced under the intense weight of heat caused by the fiery sun. It had not been long since he and Jane had departed from the carriage to come outside.
A muggy air drifted through the desert, as howls of the dry, searing winds settled. For a fleeting moment, he felt nostalgic at how this reminded him of the Neverending desert. His gaze scanned the area, and rested on Lillian, as well as some other candidates.
