Chapter 67: Freed  

Letting out a bellow of rage, Tank quickly followed me out of the building, pulling me into his chest. Spinning us around, I saw that Dante was now standing behind the glass walls, Mathis at his side with the doors firmly shut behind us.

"I really hate people," I muttered under my breath. It sucked even more that I was feeling a slight connection to Mathis. But you win some, you lose some.

"Don't worry about them, I am here," growled Tank, tightening his grip on me. "I will protect you."

The man was really all about protecting me… even if it meant his death.

"You know they are trying to kill you, too, right?" I asked, cocking my head to the side. "Are you okay with that?"

Tank shrugged his shoulders as the laughter and the giggles got louder and louder. Spinning us around so that we were no longer facing the building, Tank sucked in a breath.
